Following reports that AP government is mulling to takeover Sakshi media group, the owner of Sakshi Group and YSR Congress President YS Jaganmohan Reddy said his channel and paper were established for the cause of people and not to support Naidu and his government.
"Naidu has been resorting to the curtailing of freedom of speech media and press by blocking television channels, including Sakshi, for objective reporting. This is a bad precedent," Jagan said and exhorted other media groups to come forward and condemn the blockade of Sakshi news channel in Andhra Pradesh.
"Naidu's government curtailed freedom of speech by obstructing the TV channel from telecasting news on Kapu reservation," Jagan added. Earlier today and late yesterday, there were reports that Sakshi TV's programs were blocked by the area operators in Visakhapatnam and surrounding areas. -

Okka Ammayi Thappa Movie Review
Sundeep Kishan pinned a lot of hopes on Okka Ammayi Thappa. He was all excited as the film got closer to the release date. Rajasimha Tadinada, a noted writer has turned director with this film. Posters and the title have raised interest over the film, check out here whether Okka Ammayi Thappa turned out to be a entertainer or torture to its audience.
What is it about?
Krishna Vachan (Sundeep Kishan) and Mango (Nitya Menon) are stuck in traffic on a flyover. Hardly any vehicle moves forward because of an accident and little does Krishna and Mango know that it is a terrorist ploy. Krishna Vachan comes to know that Mango is his childhood lover and tries to get in touch with her. Meanwhile he gets caught in the web of dreaded terrorist Anwar (Ravi Kishan), who makes Krishna Vachan follow his orders by threatening to kill Mango.
Performances:
Sundeep Kishan is alright in the lead role. His chemistry with Nitya Menon is impressive. The style and attitude shown by him when the protagonist gets on top of his game is good. Nitya Menen has very little to do in this film. Wonder why she opted to do this film as she is known to be very selective about her choices. Ravi Kishan is over the top. Ajay is okay. Ali is funny at times. Tagubothu Ramesh and Prudhvi add little value. Brahmaji also is wasted in a miniscule role. There is nothing to say about the other star cast that hardly makes their presence felt.
Technicalities:
Rajasimha chose a very weak script for his debut as a director. The plot seems interesting but he has totally failed with the execution part. It is hard to keep things interested when the lead characters are caught on a flyover for more than eighty percent of the screen time. Rajasimha could've made it a taut thriller, but his attempt to play to the galleries has backfired.
Micky J Meyer music is not impressive. BGM is terrible. It is surprising to see an ace cinematographer like Chota K. Naidu come up with such a substandard product. Editing is bad. Production values are not up to the mark.
Thumbs Up:
Nitya Menon screen presence
Thumbs Down:
Screenplay
Direction
Music
Analysis:
Okka Ammayi Thappa has an intriguing setup. Almost three quarters of the film runs on a flyover, which is first of its kind in Telugu cinema. Concepts like these need to have very good technical values, taut screenplay and extraordinary performances. Sadly Okka Ammayi Thappa doesn't check any of the boxes above.
Rajasimha tried to play it safe by inserting comedy and action into the proceedings that certainly didn't help the cause. This film could have been better if it is had a runtime of ninety minutes. Despite the intriguing premise there isn't one moment where we are thrilled and excited about the proceedings.
Director's attempt to generate the patriotic feel also backfired due to bad writing. At least the film had an opportunity to redeem itself towards the climax, but the director refused to do so. Sundeep Kishan has been looking for an opportunity to break the monotony and do some niche films.
No wonder he is all excited about OAT as the script should have sounded exciting on the paper, but sadly for him it turned out to be one of the most torturous experiences at the theaters in recent times.
Verdict: Everything else is a Mess, Okka Ammayi (Nitya) Thappa!

Ever since it's confirmed that Nandamuri Balakrishna be donning the role of emperor Satakarni in his 100th film, and director Krish be wielding the megaphone, expectations on the film were sky high. Attempting to meet the expectations, Krish has shot a war episode in Morocco by roping on Hollywood fighters.

Wishing the star happy birthday, the makers have interestingly mentioned Balayya as 'Basavaramatarakaputra' as the prefix to his name. And Krish continued the trend for all the film's leading technicians such as 'Anjanaputra' Krish, 'Kamalaputra' Rajeev Reddy, 'Sitaramaputra' Sai Babu and etc.
With a lead on the poster- 'An Unsung Story of India's Greatest Warrior Emperor', Krish gave a clear picture on what the film is all about. Featuring an ensemble cast including Kabir Bedi, the movie see Shriya Saran playing Balayya's queen. The high-budget extravaganza is being produced by Rajeev Reddy on First Frame Entertainments. -

Sundeep Kishan might be the bankable hero in the industry. Yet it wasn't so easy for him to get a producer for his action-thriller Okka Ammayi Thappa. And he had to wait for nearly 3 years for a producer to bankroll his film. As finally, the film is all set for grand release tomorrow. we got Sundeep for a chat.
It's learnt that several producers haven't dared initially to produce the film and that's what delayed the film. Ask Sundeep about it. He's candid enough to admit. "Yes. I had first heard the story during the shoot of Venkatadri Express. liked it immensely and readily agreed to do the film. But sadly many were apprehensive and backed out. Finally, after nearly 3 years, we started the film."
Sundeep hasn't charged a single penny for the movie. Any particular reason behind it? "It's a risk that I took to make this film happen and thus rope many on board. Especially I should thank my uncle who also didn't charge. I'm indebted to him. And the film is very close to my heart. I had worked hard on the film. And it's one of the toughest roles I've played on screen. I had to portray myriad emotions and I think I've done justice," shares Sundeep.
Giving a peep into the film, Sundeep says that Okka Ammayi Thappa is story of story of two strangers stuck in a traffic jam on a flyover with a time bomb ticking away. "Initially we wanted to do it on Begumpet flyover but later moved to Hitech city flyover. That was the only change we made in the story. Everything else was retained," added Sundeep.
Sundeep is all praise for his co-star Nithay Menon and director Rajasimha without whom the movie wouldn't be the same. On parting note ask him that OAT doesn't seem to be a traditional Telugu movie. Does he have any apprehensions? "No, not at all. Telugu audience always encourage good cinema. The film has good romantic track and edge of the seat thrilling elements that balance all sections of audience."

'As a child, I looked up to NTR as a God. When I was in College, I began treating him as a Lover. I got an opportunity to meet him when I was pursuing Mphil in Telugu University between the period 1989-1990. For the first time, I met NTR with the help of AP Bhavan in-charge Kishan Rao when he came to take part in Andhra State Formation Ceremony in New Delhi. Soon after I fell on his feet, NTR placed his hands on my shoulders and wiped off my tears'.
'Later, NTR recognized Me when I attended TDP Mahanadu and he even called me with my name. When I sought his appointment, He offered it the very next day. The third meeting left a huge impact on NTR and thereafter we used to meet frequently to discuss various aspects. 'Just alike what was told in Samudrika Sastram, NTR's physique used to be marvelous, on par with Lord Rama be it his eyes, nose or height'.
Believe it or not. Kajal Aggarwal has reportedly agreed to work in Sundeep Kishan's up next film Nakshatram to be directed by Krishna Vamsi. Although it's not a full-fledged role but a guest role, Kajal agreed because of her rapport with Krishna Vamsi.
It's a guest appearance but has good significance. Kajal gave 15-day call sheet to the makers. And Krishna Vamsi is going to use her in the best possible way.
Nakshatram is about a young man who wants to become a police officer. Krishna Vamsi said to have prepared a tight script and planning to can action episodes with Sundeep in the first schedule. Regina Cassandra, who earlier worked with Sundeep in Routine Love Story, Ra Ra Krishnayya, is going to pair up with Sundeep for the third time.
After tasting disasters like Sardaar, Brahmotsavam, Kajal is now choosing her films wisely it seems. On other hand, success has been eluding Krishna Vamsi for a while. Post Paisa, he is planning to make a comeback. Although he was initial choice for Balayya's 100th, it didn't materialise. -

Shruti Haasan pairing up with Naga Chaitanya for the first-time with Majnu, the Telugu remake of Premam, is common knowledge by now. But a gossip has been doing the rounds in the film nagar circles.
During the pre-production stage, Naga Chaitanya had strongly recommended heroine Shruti Haasan for film as he genuinely thought she'd fit the role and at the same time bring craze and hype for the project. Chaitu had expressed that Shruti would be apt for the film to take it to the new high. However, producers were apprehensive as they couldn't afford Shruti.
Especially post blockbusters like Gabbar Singh, Race Gurram and Srimanthudu, Shruti has become costly. But still Chaitu was keen on having her on board. And the YMC star reportedly agreed to cut down his remuneration by half crore for the film and makers apparently adjusted it in Shruti's pay.
Chaitu's last biggest hit was Manam and it was also a multi-starrer. So, Chaitu is very keen on scoring a solo hit which has been eluding him for sometime. And he is pinning all his hopes on the Premam remake. One must appreciate Chaitu's sweet, professional gesture to save his producers and thus avoiding his film going over budget. Well done, Chaitu. -
