A birthday cake which the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray cut in Mumbai on the occasion of his birthday yesterday has kick-started a huge political storm between the party and the Hyderabad-based Muslim political outfit AIMIM's supporters.
However, the birthday cake was nothing ordinary as it featured the image of AIMIM's chief leader Asaduddin Owaisi on it and Owaisi's staunch political opponent Raj Thackeray cutting it made things worse for the supporters of both the leaders.
AIMIM's MLA Waris Pathan demanded severe action against Raj Thackeray and his supporters. According to the media reports, a large group of MNS supporters brought a cake with Asaduddin Owaisi's image on it to Raj Thackeray's Krishna Kunj residence in Dadar.
The MNS chief obliged his supporters' request to cut it and distributed the cake to them, saying that he will cut anyone who talk against Maharashtra into pieces just like the birthday cake.
Political circles are drawing parallels with this incident to Raj Thackeray's challenge to Owaisi - "Come to Maharashtra, I will put a knife to your throat" after Owaisi said that he won't chant 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', even if a knife is put to his throat.

According to the reports, the fake babas visited Madhusudhan's home in MLA Colony and convinced them of performing special prayers in their house. After the prayers, the babas offered the 'holy prasadam' to Madhusudhan and his family members.
Within a minute of eating the prasadam, they all fell unconscious and the fake babas went on a rampage in Reddy's house stealing 1.30 crores, according to police estimations.
Soon after being tipped about the theft, the Banjara Hills cops shifted Madhusudhan Reddy his family members to Apollo hospital, while clues team, dog squads and forensic experts reached the spot and carried out their investigation.

Mumbai: Actress Taapsee Pannu says that her 'break' in the Hindi film industry was not intentional and starting with the single "Tum Ho Toh Lagta Hai", she'll be seen in back-to-back projects getting her "scared" of being overexposed.
Taapsee's last film was "Baby" opposite Akshay Kumar, which had released in January last year. It is after more than a year that Taapsee is seen on the screen for Hindi audiences as she features in the single "Tum Ho Toh Lagta Hai", sung by Shaan and composed by Amaal Malik. She is cast opposite Saqib Saleem in the video.
At the launch of the song, Taapsee was asked about her 'break' in the industry. She said, "I was doing films that you'll see in the festive season. It has just begun; this (single) is just the trailer for me for this year. There's going to be 'Pink', there is 'Tadka' and there are a couple of projects coming up.
I have been shooting non-stop, it's just that the shooting has been a bit delayed. You will see me, just that there shouldn't be an overdose, that's what I am really scared of."
