Ace director SS Rajamouli’s son Vijayendra Prasad provided stories for most of his son films such as Simhadri, Eega, Baahubali etc. The veteran writer penned story for a Bollywood film Bajrangi Bhaijaan which was a runaway hit. Vijayendra Prasad who is presently working for Baahubali 2 and his maiden directorial venture has some other projects in his hands.
One such project is sequel for Tamil star director Shankar’s blockbuster movie Mudhalvan (Oke Okkadu in Telugu). Sujatha Rangarajan who was script writer for the original film had passed away few years ago. Now, if reports are to be believed, Vijayendra Prasad is working on story for sequel.
However, it is yet not known who is going to play lead role and who will direct the sequel for Madhalvan. Currently, Shankar is busy with Robo 2 starring Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar. The graphical extravaganza will hit the screens early in 2017.
Director P Vasu is well known to Telugu spectators with the superstar Rajinikanth starred film Chandramukhi which was a blockbuster in Telugu as well. Synopsis:
Aadi (Tarun Shetty), a happy-go-lucky guy, is poor in studies and spends most of his time hanging out with close buddies. One fine day, Aadi meets his Junior Priya (Avantika). Falling for the tricks played by Aadi, Priya accepts his love proposal. That's when Aadi reveals all of his tricks to her, still Priya continues to love him. However, Differences crop up between the Love Birds after some time as Priya can't handle Aadi's irresponsible behaviour anymore. They decide to maintain a gap between them for six months. What happened in those 6 months? Is there any change in Aadi during this period?
Performance:
Almost all the actors in 'Meeku Meere Maaku Meme' were debutantes. Most importantly, All of them behave like real-life characters. Tarun Shetty looks handsome and impresses with his acting prowess. He, however, ruins the impact by being very casual in few pivotal scenes. Avantika of 'Maya' fame has changed a lot for her second film. She attained slim figure and scores brownie points with her performance.
Out of all, Its Kireeti (played Bridegroom in Uyyala Jampala) who steals the show with his comic timing. He stood as a major asset to the movie. Jenny is alright. The Actor who played Heroine's Father did a fine job. Rest of the cast did justice to their roles.

All the Technicians have extended good co-operation to the Director. Songs composed by Sravan have been soothing to the ears. Even the Background Score isn't bad. Cinematographer Surya Vinay did a marvelous job. The visuals have been so nice inspite of the budget constraint. Dialogues were okay. Hussain Sha Kiran showed his calibre as a writer and director in few sequences but failed to leave a strong impression. He, however, made a honest attempt to hit the right chord with the audience.
Analysis:
In one particular scene of 'Meeku Meere Maaku Meme', Heroine tells her Father about the guy she is madly in love with and conveys she can't imagine her life without him even though he is weak in academics, smokes cigar & drinks alcohol. The elderly gentleman then asks her to invite Hero for a meeting with him. Before Heroine could leave the place, The Father claims he is well aware of why she disclosed all the negative aspects of her Boyfriend. 'As you have pointed out all the negative traits already, There is no room for complaint from my side and I will get impressed if I notice a single positive aspect in him. Is this what you feel?,' he asks. This one sequence is a reflection of the spark in Director Hussain Sha Kiran.
'Meeku Meere Maaku Meme' entertains in bits & parts but fails to leave a strong impression. Few good scenes can't make a film success and overall packaging is the key. Hussain Sha Kiran tried to present a new age love story with characters close to the reality. Comedy Scenes between Hero & his Friend Kireeti of 'Uyyala Jampala' fame worked big time. All the roles & concept were contemporary to help present day Youth connect well easily.
Although the concept chosen is impressive, Narration has been a let down & better screenplay could have certainly made 'MMMM' a winner at Box Office. The way Director handled the Love Story and Break-Up looks silly. Even the strong emotion that's a must has been missing in the sequence which establish separation of lovers.
Director focussed mainly on humor in the First Half and comes out with flying colors. In the crucial Second Half where he has to deal with the story, Hussain Sha Kiran fails to bring an emotional connect and the impression that he built with First Half gets ruined with senseless scenes. Overall, 'MMMM' is a youthful entertainer with some flaws.
Bottom Line: Comedy Works - Emotion Fails!
"I had bad experiences in the past. I was forced to wear skin-revealing costumes. I felt uncomfortable. I dared and warned my filmmakers to walk out from shootings, if they ask to go glamorous. In fact, glamorous outfits won't suit me. So, I had decided not to be dressed in such outfits. It's a habitual thing that, I will tell my directors not to act in two-piece attire, before signing any film," said Anandhi in a recent media interaction.
Earlier, Anandhi hit headlines for her bad remarks on Trisha Illana Nayanthara (Trisha Leda Nayanthara in Telugu) director Adhik Ravichandran. She alleged that the director had cheated her by changing the story that was earlier narrated to her.

Designed as a crime thriller and symbolically titled “Udta Punjab”, the film delves into the growing drug menace in the state of Punjab.
The narrative intertwines the lives of a popular youth icon, rock-star-cum-rap-singer Tommy Singh, migrant labourer Kumari Pinky, awho unwittingly gets caught in the clutches of the drug mafia, doctor-cum-activist Preet Sahni, Inspector Sartaj Singh and his younger brother Bali.
The plot is pretentious, dramatised and far-fetched. The narration begins with drugs being flung across the border, in the dark of the night, into a field in Punjab. The packet accidentally lands in Kumari Pinky’s hand, who tries to palm off the consignment to Bali’s contact.
Though ill-equipped with the ways of drug dealing, she negotiates in the hope of making a quick buck.
Inexplicably, realisation dawns on Pinky, when she is en route to meet the drug dealer. She destroys the consignment before getting caught by the mafia and has to face the brunt of its wrath for her deed.
Meanwhile, the police in their zest to show 'cop power' arrest Tommy Singh for using drugs and corrupting the youth with his drug-infused rap music.
Also, Sartaj Singh realises that his brother has become an addict, when he lands at Preet Sahni’s clinic after getting over-dosed. The doctor motivates Sartaj to fight the drug menace, “system mein rehekar".
The characters are well-defined, but their graphs are poorly etched, especially Tommy Singh. His journey though exposed realistically, is unconvincing.
The drama that keeps you hooked only highlights the premise of the story. It sends out a strong message that every individual needs to fight the corrupt system at their individual level. But the dramatic moment hits the peak when Tommy, while explaining to Pinky, screeches, “Maal khatam, party over, go home.” What follows is an equally impressive reply from Pinky.
The dialogues, replete with cuss words, are as vibrant as the performances.
Shahid Kapoor, with his tattooed physique and funky hair style, portrays Tommy Singh to the T. He lives the character of an artiste constantly under the influence of drugs and he demonstrates it with his meteoric moods, which he displays with alarming, bone-chilling precision.
Similarly, with a deglamourised and feral look, Alia Bhatt captures your heart as Pinky. She is consistent and brilliant in her performance.
With a restrained performance, Punjabi cinema’s heartthrob Diljit Dosanjh is impressive and makes an impact. He is intense as a concerned brother and charming as Preet’s love interest.
Prabhjyot Singh essays the role of Bali, a victim of circumstances to perfection. You inadvertently feel sorry for him, even when he turns into a criminal.
Kareena Kapoor Khan, as Preet is competent, but offers nothing exceptional. So is Satish Kaushik, who plays Taayaji, Tommy’s uncle and show promoter.
The songs are situational. They add flavour to the film, but do not propel the narrative.
Mounted with moderate production values, the film is deliberated as a neo-realistic film. Rajeev Ravi’s cinematography is remarkable with realistic frames. The sound, designed by Kunal Sharma, effectively layered by editor Meghna Sen, enhances the viewing experience.
Overall, "Udta Punjab", with all the hype it created in the media for its “expression of creative freedom” is worth a watch, only for the performances and social message.

King Akkineni Nagarjuna attended audio launch event of his elder son Naga Chaitanya’s upcoming romantic thriller film Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo as chief guest. Director Gautam Menon and music director AR Rahman also graced the function along with other cast and crew members.
While speaking at the event, Nag recalled an incident that, Gautam Menon had once asked him to play negative role in his movie.
