Vara Mullapudi (S/O of Iconic Writer Mullapudi Ramana & Son-in-Law of Legendary Director Bapu) attempted direction twice in the past. Neither NTR's slapstick comedy 'Naa Alludu' nor Allari Naresh's thriller 'Visakha Express' helped him establish as a Director. In his third attempt, He made a love story set in rural backdrop. Can Vara Mullapudi leave a mark of his own at least with 'Kundanapu Bomma'?
Synopsis:
Suchitra (Chandini Chowdhary), a Vizianagaram native, falls in love with a Car Mechanic Vasu (Sudheer Varma). However, Her Father Mahadeva Raju always wanted to marry off her to close relative's son Gopi (Sudhakar). For some reason, Gopi is against this alliance and hence the marriage gets delayed. Now, The Love Birds seek Gopi's help to convey their love matter to Mahadeva Raju. Has Gopi fulfilled the wish of Suchitra & Vasu? What consequences did the Lovers face?
Performances:
If the Story & Screenplay were so weak, Actors could do nothing much and that's what happens in the case of 'Kundanapu Bomma' as well. Chandini Chowdary looked beautiful but she hardly managed to win the hearts with acting prowess. Debutante Sudheer Varma has done a fine job. Rajeev Kanakala performs well and he generates humor. Sudhakar was wasted. Nagineedu's role ends abruptly. Jhansi and Shakalaka Shankar fails to tickle the funny bone.

Don't expect MM Keeravani-mark music in 'Kundanapu Bomma'. Both Songs and Background Score were below-par. A song recorded by KV Mahadevan for Bapu has been remixed for this movie and its alright. Cinematography is good. Dialogues were outdated. Editing is poor. Production Values were okay. Vara Mullapudi continued to deliver unimpressive stuff inspite of two big blows in the past.
Analysis:
First things first, 'Naa Alludu' & 'Visakha Express' looks better than 'Kundanapur Bomma' in every aspect. This statement gives a clear picture of how this rustic love story has shaped up. Vara Mullapudi messed it completely with Outdated Story/Screenplay, Emotions which don't elevate an any point and Cliched Comedy Blocks.
Heroine falls in love with Hero just for helping her in Examination. One can expect how this love story has ended after knowing about this one sequence. Silly jokes which were doing rounds on WhatsApp have been included in Comedy Scenes. Even Chiru's English translation comedy in 'Shankardada MBBS' wasn't spared. Although the actual intention is to make it an out & out entertainer, Poor writing and bad execution kept irritating the Viewer. The only time audience laugh is during the Emotional Scenes and that's an indication of how bad they were.
Except for Rajeev Kanakala's role and couple of jokes, 'Kundanapu Bomma' lacks any positives. Its tiring to watch this poorly scripted flick till the end cards. Which means, Vara Mullapudi has scored a Hat-Trick!
Bottom Line: Better Stay Away!

Filmmaker Krish, best known for acclaimed films like Gamyam, Vedam and Kanche, got engaged to Dr. Ramya at a private ceremony today.
Nandamuri Balakrishna, who is currently doing Gautamiputra Satakarni with Krish attended the engagement ceremony at Trident hotel, Hyderabad.

Do you know that leading comedian Brahmanandam played a role in Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, the super hit film starring Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh. But Brahmanandam is nowhere to be seen in the film either when it was screened in theatres or when it is being telecast in channels now.
But it is true. Brahmanandam acted in a few scenes in SVSC, but those scenes were cut during editing. He was paid remuneration for acting in the film, but his role was not visible in the film. It is perhaps possible only to Srikanth Addala, the director of the film, who made a leading actor to act in the film and then delete his portion.
It is not just Brahmanandam, there are similar victims in every film of Srikanth Addala. His latest “art piece” Brahmotsavam also has such roles which were removed during editing. One such role was that of Chandini, who got fame for her acting in short films.
Chandini, who is presently acting in a full-length feature film, recently revealed that she played the role of Mahesh Babu’s sister in Brahmotsavam, but her character was removed during editing.
There are directors who remove certain scenes during editing; but Srikanth Addala has been removing the entire characters.
As a matter of fact, his films have no stories, except scenes. He scripts scenes and shoots them; and later, removes some of the scenes in the name of editing. As a result, some characters have to become scapegoats and do not appear on screen!
The theatrical trailer of comedian turned hero Sunil's latest film Jakkanna has been launched by Megastar Chiranjeevi during the film's audio launch function last night. Jakkanna is directed by Vamsi Krishna Akella and produced by R Sudharshan Reddy, who earlier produced Maruthi's Prema Katha Chitram.
Going by the trailer, looks like the makers of Jakkanna have 'sculpted' an out and out mass comedy treat for Sunil's fans. While the stylishly shot 2-minute trailer does not reveal much about Sunil's character, it shows Sunil in his top form and he scores well with his comic antics.
The film's voluptuous heroine Mannara Chopra seems to have offered a luscious glamour treat, which will be enjoyed by the masses. Furthermore, villain Kabir, comedians Saptagiri and Prudhvi too create a solid impact and together, the trailer promises to be a hilarious mass comedy treat.
When the film's teaser was released, it was panned by critics and mass movie lovers as it offered nothing new. Looks like the makers kept the negative feedback in mind and cut the trailer in a more interesting way and succeeded in their mission. -

What is it about?
Sandhya (Niharika) is a house surgeon that falls in love with Surya (Shaurya) an aspiring politician. Surya wants to contest in the Municipal elections but falls prey to a friend's politics and ends up in jail. Surya comes out on bail after three years. Although Surya's future looks bleak Sandhya decides to live with him. Can they ever get together as Surya gets into deeper troubles?
Performances:
Naga Shaurya keeps it simple. He is maturing as an actor with each film. He is perfect for his character and did well without going overboard. He is superb as the person caught between love, father and life ambition. Niharika Konidela can act. She makes a confident debut. Although the character is a bit matured for her age, Niharika somehow managed to look the part. Rao Ramesh has an underwhelming character. Avasarala Srinivas is wasted. Pragathi overacts as usual. Vennela Kishore's cameo doesn't work. Krishna Bhagavan also is wasted in a purposeless character.
Technicalities:
Rama Raju tried to present this story in poetic style. He succeeded up to an extent but things get repetitive as the story moves forward. Same scenes and conversations come again and again that ultimately tests the patience levels of the viewers. Rama Raju should have made a love story that reflects contemporary times. The story and emotions look dated and unconvincing. Only part that the director made some impact is the climax portion of the film.
Music by Sunil Kashyap is mediocre. Not even a single song is soothing or catchy. Background score is unimpressive. Cinematography is okay with pleasant visuals. Editing is bad. Editor could have trimmed down the run time by a good half an hour or so.

Analysis:
Oka Manasu is a romantic drama that is set in contemporary times but will only appeal to people from the previous generations. Will a doctor blindly fall in love with some random guy with whom she sees no future? Oka Manasu is poetic, but it is impractical. There is scope for better drama with the conflict point, but the director chooses to make it a never ending saga of philosophical conversations between the lead pair.
More than ninety percent of the scenes are on the lead pair itself. They meet in various places and keep on talking all the time. At times they kiss or hug! There is absolutely no chemistry between the lead pair. It is hard to get involved into these sluggish proceedings even during the climax part where the story heads for an unusual ending.
Love stories needs to be pleasant and make us root for the lead characters. But the lead pair in this film get on our nerves that we don't even feel the pain during their biggest miseries. There are sub plots and other characters that are not used at all. There is a lot of scope for drama, but Oka Manasu refuses to make use of it. It is not fair to compare this to a television serial. Even they are trying to be funny these days. On a whole, Oka Manasu is like an ultimate test for one's patience.

Performances:
Naga Shaurya keeps it simple. He is maturing as an actor with each film. He is perfect for his character and did well without going overboard. He is superb as the person caught between love, father and life ambition. Niharika Konidela can act. She makes a confident debut. Although the character is a bit matured for her age, Niharika somehow managed to look the part. Rao Ramesh has an underwhelming character. Avasarala Srinivas is wasted. Pragathi overacts as usual. Vennela Kishore's cameo doesn't work. Krishna Bhagavan also is wasted in a purposeless character.
Technicalities:
Rama Raju tried to present this story in poetic style. He succeeded up to an extent but things get repetitive as the story moves forward. Same scenes and conversations come again and again that ultimately tests the patience levels of the viewers. Rama Raju should have made a love story that reflects contemporary times. The story and emotions look dated and unconvincing. Only part that the director made some impact is the climax portion of the film.
Music by Sunil Kashyap is mediocre. Not even a single song is soothing or catchy. Background score is unimpressive. Cinematography is okay with pleasant visuals. Editing is bad. Editor could have trimmed down the run time by a good half an hour or so.

Analysis:
Oka Manasu is a romantic drama that is set in contemporary times but will only appeal to people from the previous generations. Will a doctor blindly fall in love with some random guy with whom she sees no future? Oka Manasu is poetic, but it is impractical. There is scope for better drama with the conflict point, but the director chooses to make it a never ending saga of philosophical conversations between the lead pair.
More than ninety percent of the scenes are on the lead pair itself. They meet in various places and keep on talking all the time. At times they kiss or hug! There is absolutely no chemistry between the lead pair. It is hard to get involved into these sluggish proceedings even during the climax part where the story heads for an unusual ending.
Love stories needs to be pleasant and make us root for the lead characters. But the lead pair in this film get on our nerves that we don't even feel the pain during their biggest miseries. There are sub plots and other characters that are not used at all. There is a lot of scope for drama, but Oka Manasu refuses to make use of it. It is not fair to compare this to a television serial. Even they are trying to be funny these days. On a whole, Oka Manasu is like an ultimate test for one's patience.

HYDERABAD: India continues to get the "lion's share" of the H-1B visas from the US government despite the fee hike, US Ambassador to India Richard Verma said.
"India continues to receive the lion's share of H-1B and L1 and even after the fee increase, they continue to get 70% of those H-1B visas," Verma said on the sidelines of 'The Future is Now: From COP21 to Reality' conference here.
"We understand the concern about the fee hike.
The US, under the 9/11 Health and Compensation Act, has imposed a special fee of $4,000 on certain categories of H-1B visas and $4,500 on L1 visas.
Almost all Indian IT companies would be paying between $8,000 and $10,000 per H-1B visa as per the hike. According to Nasscom , this is expected to have an impact of about $400 million annually on India's technology sector.
Earlier in his speech, Verma said the ongoing deforestation and poor land management is responsible for nearly a quarter of the world's greenhouse gas emissions as each day, greenhouse gases emitted by human activities trap the same amount of heat energy as would be released by 400,000 atomic bombs.
"Climate change is not just an environmental challenge; it is a national security issue. Changes in climate could potentially damage critical infrastructure, create shortages of food and water, and lead to mass migrations and disease outbreaks.
"Receding ice sheets in the Arctic and the opening of new sea passages raise concerns about maritime security and freedom of navigation," he said.
