Aatadukundam Raa
Aatadukundam Raa Movie Review
What is it about?
Karthik (Sushanth) comes to solve the problems of his uncle Anand Rao (Murali Sharma). He is on a mission to teach a lesson to the bad guys. Meanwhile, he falls in love with Anand Rao's daughter Shruthi (Sonam Bajwa). Although Karthik seems to be helping Anand Rao and his family, there is a hidden secret about him. He comes to Anand Rao's house in disguise. There is a reason for him to take up this mission.
Performances:
Sushanth has tried new hairdo and look. Bearded look suited him. He is fluid in dances but hasn't improved as an actor. He is still struggling to mouth dialogues. Sonam Bajwa is a very bad actress and has totally depended upon skin show to make her presence felt. Brahmanandam's lengthy comedy track isn't funny. Prudhvi did alright within his limitations. Murali Sharma's dignified presence and performance are noteworthy. Posani is as loud as usual. Most of the remaining star cast is wasted in insignificant roles. Naga Chaitanya and Akhil Akkineni did cameos which should impress fans.
Technicalities:
Nageswara Reddy is known for making decent comedies, but he seemed totally out of place this time. Dated story didn't give him much scope for innovation and even the so called comedy scenes didn't turn out as expected. This will go down as one of his bad works for sure.
Anup's music is mediocre. Palleku Podam remix is the only song that leaves an impression. Editing is bad as there are too many jump cuts. Camera work is okay but the graphics are tacky. Dialogues are dull and pale. Production values are average.
Thumbs Up:
Sushanth's best look to date.
Thumbs Down:
Story
Screenplay
Direction
Editing
Analysis:
Sushanth has got his styling right, but sadly he chose a very bad script for his makeover. Nageswara Reddy who is known to be a reliable director messed it up big time. The film starts off on a sensible note, but suddenly goes down the hill after it switches to comedy. The director relied too much upon comedy that he has totally lost the track of the plot after a point.
Had the director stick with the plot, the film would have seemed a bit better. There won't be any complaints if the comedy is bang on the target. When the director and writers fails to get the comedy right then everything seems farcical and boring. Aatadukundam Raa is a plain silly film with absolutely no stuff in it.
They have used every trick in the book to make it a watchable fare, but none of it worked including the cameos of Chay and Akhil. Second half is a bit better compared to the totally worthless first half. Aatadukundam Raa is so bad that it couldn't hit any high note at any point of time. It almost looked like the team has given it up midway as if they knew that no one could save this mess. Take our advice and save yourself from this nonsense.
Verdict: Game of 'Thorns'!
Chuttalabbayi
Chuttalabbayi Movie Review
What is it about?
Babji (Aadi) is a recovery agent who bumps into Kavya (Namita), sister of a strict police officer. Kavya's brother mistakes that Babji is after his sister. Babji is pushed into a situation where he had to accompany Kavya who is running away from home. While policemen are searching for Babji and Kavya, another group of people start hunting for Kavya. Babji and Kavya are saved by Dorababu (Sai Kumar) when they were attacked by the two groups. Who is Dorababu? Why did he save the couple?
Performances:
Aadi is picking roles that don't give him any scope to show his acting chops. Looks like he is obsessed with action hero image as he is choosing similar kind of characters in every film. He has been turned down by the audience in similar characters before, but Aadi is forcing them to accept him doing the same stuff. Namitha Pramod got the looks and talent. She is a treat to watch. Sai Kumar did a powerful character that adds value to the film. Abhimanyu Singh is okay in the police role. Prudhvi's comedy is the saving grace for this film. Ali's cameo towards the climax offered few laughs.
Technicalities:
Veerabhadram plays it safe with a template story and screenplay. Chuttalabbayi doesn't offer a wee bit of freshness in any form. Director has to blame himself for writing such a weak script. Thaman's music is a plus. Arun Kumar's camera work also is impressive. Production values are good but the editing is a letdown.
Thumbs Up:
A couple of songs
Prudhvi comedy
Thumbs Down:
Script and execution
Bland characters
Boring second half
Analysis:
First half of the film is passable with routine comedy and action episodes. Second half is absolutely boring with repetitive scenes and weak villains. Veerabhadram banked upon Prudhvi and Ali's comedy to bail this one out. Prudhvi almost pulled it off with his act as Ego Reddy. Director committed a blunder by concluding Prudhvi's character at the interval point.
Extending Prudhvi's role would have made it a better one as the second half struggled due to lack of comedy. Underutilizing the characters of Sai Kumar and Abhimanyu Singh didn't help either. We expect something like Pandem Kodi kind of action in the second hour after looking at Sai Kumar's introduction.
None of the characters are properly etched and the film has suffered a lot because of it. Veerabhadram rehashed comedy episodes and sentiment scenes from other films to make this work. He even went on to copy a fight scene from NTR's Brindavanam. Despite all that Chuttalabbayi ended up as a boring fare. Aadi should hereby be careful with his script selection as he may not get many offers if he continues to fail like this.
Verdict: Boring Babai.
Shruti Haasan is one of the very few south Indian female stars that don't have qualms over skin show. She has the body to die for and she doesn't mind to flaunt her curves.
Shruti has done some of the hottest photo shoots in her career so far. She has done things that a South Indian heroine doesn't even dare to think about. When was the last time you have seen an A-list South Indian top star posing like this?
Shruti has set a benchmark for herself with such bold pictures and we wouldn't mind seeing her raise the bar even higher in her upcoming photoshoots? Do we?
Ramya's remarks came when Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar lambasted Islamabad for promoting Terror and commented 'a visit to Pak is similar to going to hell'.
A sedition case was filed against Ramya by an Advocate for her statements. Several Protests have been staged seeking an apology from the Actress-turned-Politician. She, however, choose not to apologize at any cost.
A footage of Angry Protestors holding black flags and pelting eggs at Ramya's convoy has gone viral now. Despite tight security, This incident took place near the Mangalore Airport. Cops have detained the attackers immediately.
Though the film's story has been kept under the wraps, the teaser however slightly gives us a peep into the film and Sagar's role. The premise of the film has been revealed. Sagar wants to forget his memories, wounds but his past seems to be haunting him like a shadow. What's his past? What's haunting him and why? How would he overcome is what Siddhartha is all about.
Sagar is romancing with Sakshi Chowdary in the film directed by KV Dayanand. Thanks to Prawin Pudi's editing, the teaser is crisp and the production values seem to be decent. Dasari Kiran, who is producing controversial Vangaveeti with Ram Gopal Varma, is bankrolling the film and the film is cranked by noted cameraman S Gopal Reddy.
However, the big test is for Sagar as it needs to be seen whether he would prove himself as commercial hero since he's trying more action.
As her comment looked like a direct satire on Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar made last week when he equated visiting Pakistan with visiting hell, a lawyer has now taken Ramya to court. A sedition case is slapped against her for saying 'Pakistan is not hell'.
Talking about the same, Ramya said, "I would have apologised, but if I do in this case, the larger cause we're fighting for would go". While Ramya belongs to Congress party, other opposition holders are now taking dig at her.
Soon after the news broke out that the seductively charming Kajal Aggarwal was doing the 'Pakka Local' item song, which was shot recently on NTR and her, the expectations grew sky high. Fans are now eagerly waiting to see the teaser of the chartbuster item song. The teaser will be released within few days.
Meanwhile, we are revealing the look of Kajal from the song. She is said to be sporting four costumes in the song and this is one of them. In traditional costumes, the saucy seductress looks like a 'Pakka Telugu Ammayi'.
"I didnt picked Shourya because he's my Oohalu Gusagusalade hero. But I've written Anand character keeping him in mind. Then I've approached Nara Rohit, but felt afraid if he would accept the role. First he said yes, then I felt after two days he may reject. Fortunately he's game for the role", said Avasarala, talking about casting these two heroes as leads in Jyo Atchyutananda.
Furthermore he added that director Mohankrishna Indraganti, producer Sai Korrapati and music composer Kalyana Ramana (alias Kalyani Malik) are his pillars of strength here. He added that this composer encouraged him during tough times when he's not getting chances to direct.
New Delhi: Actress Ileana D'Cruz says her monsoon beauty mantra involves a good cleanse ritual and use of the right moisturiser.
Ileana, the face of Pond's White Beauty, has a special skincare ritual for the monsoon. She has shared it for her fans:
* Cleansing: While we all love the rains, w
e often underestimate the damage this sticky weather can do to our skin. I ditch my regular cleansers for a light gel-based face wash. It removes the dead cells, unclogs pores and helps retain the skin's natural glow. Cleanse at least two to three times a day and use a soft cloth in place of a towel to dab dry your face. This will avoid stripping off essential oils.* Moisturising: Even though it is sticky and humid outside, your skin still needs a light moisturiser to keep it naturally radiant and hydrated. Using moisturisers that come with Pro-Vitamin B3 has also helped me combat dark spots and reduced dark circles.
* Even though there is water pouring around, make sure there's enough going into your system. I double my intake of water to make sure my skin is hydrated. This also strengthens your immunity from skin infections the monsoon brings in.
The thunderous response from the audiences for the film's trailer is proof for the craze of the biopic of Dhoni. To cash in on the craze, the filmmakers have decided to dub the film in all the noted regional languages like Telugu, Tamil, Marathi etc. But, it seems that regional political parties in Maharashtra will not let it happen.
Film affairs wing of Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Chitrapat Karmachari Sena (CKS) has objected to the idea of dubbing the Hindi film in Marathi. The regional political outfit opines that dubbing the much awaited Hindi film in Marathi language will pose threat to the regional Marathi films, which are already facing shortage of theatres due to the invasion of Hindi films.
CKS President said that Maharashtra people know Hindi and if they want to see 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', they could watch it in Hindi. The party asked the producers of 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' not to dub the movie in Marathi or they will protest against the release of the Hindi version as well.
Directed by Neeraj Pandey and starring Sushant Singh Rajput in the titular role, 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story' is set to hit theaters on September 30. - f
