Income Tax authorities once again caused flutters in the Tollywood film industry by raiding the offices and houses of noted producers Dil Raju and DVV Danayya.  The raids of IT sleuths on producer and distributor Dil Raju, a day before the release of his high-budget multi-starrer Sitamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu has become talk of the film industry.  It may be mentioned that Dil Raju is also producing 'Evadu' with union minister Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan.  Even as the industry was stunned by the raids on Dil Raju, reports said simultaneous raids were held on the residence and office of another producer DVV Danayya also. In a strange coincidence, while Dil Raju is producing the forthcoming movie of Ramcharan, Danayya is the producer of 'Nayak', the just released film of Chiranjeevi's son. Danayya is also the producer of 'Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu' of Pawan Kalyan, another Mega family member. It is not yet known why the IT sleuths had selected these two producers for the raids.  However, it is being said that as both have been producing high budget films, they attracted the attention of the IT sleuths.

Kajal Agarrwal being the main lead in Ram Charan starrer, V.V. Vinayak's directorial 'Nayak', Kajal's look that was experimented to a great extent and her charm has definitely earned the attention of one and all. Apart from the main lead played by Kajal and of course the hero of the film, Charan, V.V. Vinayak's screenplay and Direction, Bramhanandam's comedy and Thaman's music scores, another actress associated with the film, who earned lot of positive reviews is another heroine of the film, Amala Paul...

Apart from 'Nanna', Amala shot in fame with Naga CHiatanya's 'bejawaada'... the Actress gained lot of name when she bagged the role opposite Charan in 'Nayak'... unlike many other heroines who get un noticed when they play second leads, Amala managed to bag her recognition in 'Nayak'...

As of now, Amala is working as a main lead in Allu Arjun's 'Iddarammayilatho' and 'Janda Pai Kapiraaju' with Nani.

South sensation Samantha is all set to weave a web of mesmerising magic again this year starting from Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu. Later she has mass romance in Autonagar Surya with Naga Chaitanya and Raec Gurram with Allu Arjun. If this is not enough her Bollywood flick include Assi Nabbe Poorey Sau and untitled projects from Trivikram Srinivas, Harish Shankar and Linguswamy. 

She says currently she is in 'Jabardst' mood as she hasn't seen such a beautiful place. Samantha was spellbound by the beauty of Malaysia's Langkawi Islands. Wait is over for Mega fans. Mega Power Star Ram Charan’s ‘Nayak’ was released all over the world in record number of theaters. The expectations have skyrocketed with Ram Charan teaming up with V V Vinayak who gave a super hit film like ‘Tagore’ with Chiranjeeevi. Let’s see how far the movie reached the expectations of the Mega fans.

Story

Cherry (Ram Charan), a software engineer, traps Madhu (Kajal) and lives happily in Hyderabad along with his bachelor uncle Jilebi (Brahmanandam).

CBI officer Ashish Vidyarthi who is investigating the murder case of Taxi Bhai in Kolkata and DGP murder in Hyderabad suspects Cherry’s hand in those murders. When the CBI officer follows to Haridwar to arrest Cherry, sees Nayak (Ram Charan) attacking Rawat (Pradeep Rawat) during Khumba Mela.

CBI officer then arrests Nayak leaving Cherry. Why Nayak is on a killing spree and how Cherry helps Nayak to succeed in his mission forms the crux of the story.

Performance

Ram Charan did a tremendous job as a soft lover and an angry young man. His dancing skills are superb in first song (Lai la o Lai la...). His dialogue delivery and modulation are excellent in this movie. He did justice to both the roles.

Kajal Agarwal looked glamorous and did well in the first half. Amala Paul is limited to couple of scenes and did not have much to offer. Unfortunately, both the heroines are restricted to songs and dances.

Brahmanandam in the role of a bachelor uncle is at his best as Jilebi. The comedy scenes between Hero, Heroine and Brahmanadam are excellent. Other attraction for the movie is comedy by Jayaprakash Reddy. He gave a swell performance and his dialogues are hilarious. M. S. Naarayana is OK as lip reading specialist in CBI office. Posani Krishna Murali brings laughter in the intense second half.

Pradeep Rawat, Dev Gill, Ashish Vidyarthi did their bit. Kota, Sudha, Surekha Vani appear in limited roles. Rajeev Kanakala appears in an inspiring role. Venu Madhav, Raghu Babu, Fish Venkat tries to add comedy.

Technical

Director V V Vinayak, who is known for giving a commercial treatment to social subject, has chosen a routine story which has nothing new to offer. He chose a simple story and weaved an entertaining screenplay around it. Akula Shiva dialogues are plus to the movie. Editing by Goutam Raju is good.

Thaman background score is good. Four of six songs are good which includes ‘Shubhalekha Raasukunna’. Chota K Naaidu cinematography is asset to the movie.

Choreography and action scenes are composed well. Production values are high.

Analysis

First half of the movie runs on lighter vein with comedy and songs dominates the proceedings. Second half is intense and turns violent with the main story unwrapping. V V Vinayak concentrated more on the presentation of the movie than the subject. Director took enough precaution to add comedy even in the serious second half with the ‘chocolate’ episode. The story and screenplay is predictable after the interesting interval bang. The big drawback of the movie is climax which is like a 80s plot villain calling hero to a secluded place to finish off where hero gets upper hand.

Director tried to please Pawan Kalyan fans with couple of scenes.  First one, Ram Charan saying with Rahul Dev ‘I use your name to get the tickets for Pawan Kalyan Movie’ and Ram Charan seeing ‘Gabbar Singh’ movie in Kolkata. Writer also used the famous Mohan Babu dialogue ‘Fish and Fisherman’ from ‘Pedarayudu’.

When it comes to song, ‘Shubhalekha Raasukunna’ is disappointing and not picturised well. May be it is because of the cold weather. Output would have better had the song shot in a set. Item song by Charmee is ordinary. There are not many punch dialogues to elevate the hero.

Final Talk

‘Nayak’ is an entertaining film with loads of comedy and action. The movie would have been even better had the director put little extra effort on the content and climax. Finally, the range of success depends on the competition from the future big releases.

Ram Charan's Nayak is a hilarious, action entertainer. Charan breaks the jinx and scores another blockbuster with filmmaker V V Vinayak weaving an excellent plot that fits none other than our Mega Power Star. Nayak hits screens on Wednesday (January 09) amidst fanfare and theatres wore a festive look. A wholesome family entertainer that should appeal the class and mass alike. There is something for everyone!

Story: Ram Charan is Cherry, a techie who works as a software engineer and his uncle, Jilebi, is Brahmanandam. Jilebi accidentally hurts the local don Gandipeta Babji (Rahul Dev). Cherry gets into the act of saving his uncle by hatching a plan, but in the process falls for Babji's sister Madhu (Kajal Agarwal).

In the meantime the film takes a serious turn with a series of killings in Hyderabad and Kolkata and Minister Rawat (Pradeep Rawat) is also targeted. Cherry is implicated in the row and goes underground. CBI team lead by Ashish Vidhyardhi tries to track the whereabouts of the hero. In the process a flash back love story emerges in Kolkata, between Amala (Amala Paul) and Cherry.

Now what is the flashback story? Who of the two heroines will be united with Cherry? How will he prove his innocence? And more questions that linger in your minds form the rest of the story, worth seeing on the big screen.

Analysis: Ram Charan was excellent and his voice modulation added to the aesthetics of the film. Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul were equally gorgeous with better screen space for the former. Brahmanandam is his usual self with a meaty role that should feed his fans with sumptuous hilarious menu. M S Narayana as CBI lipreading specialist tickles the funny bone and takes due credence in the laugh act. Almost all of them fit the bill on the whole. Songs are entertaining and would leave fans tapping their feet. First half is comedy of a decent genre and second half is action packed with an unexpected turn.

Performance: Ram Charan is awesome in the company of his 'Magadheera lady love,' Kajal Agarwal. The story reminds of various films but all the bits have been knitted well by the versatile director V V Vinayak. Chota K Naidu behind the camera shows what could be the best visual treat. Comedy fare offered by Brahmanandam and M S Narayana is hilarious and unique. Climax could have been better but on the whole a commendable effort by the team.

Tanikella Rajendra Prasad, who recently worked as cinematographer for 'Mithunam', cranked the camera. Currently in the post-production phase, 'April Fool' is likely to hit theatres on Jan 25. Hollywood star Catherine Zeta-Jones says she is planning to visit India to attend the Kumbh Mela, starting Jan 27, in search of "peace and tranquility". She is also sure she can fit into a Bollywood film if she gets a "good opportunity".She is planning the trip with her husband Michael Douglas, and her children."Personally, I've been going through a tough period in my life. What I require for my mental health and well-being is some peace and tranquillity. I swear by yoga, which I believe has its roots in India. So I really want to visit India again specifically during the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage and I am told it is a sight to behold for the eyes and soul," said the actress in a statement."I'm hoping to find what I'm looking for here. I'm trying to make this happen with my family. Even after Delhi rape incident creating uproar, alleged rape news have been hitting headlines. In a recent case, a woman who hailed from Eluru (Andhra Pradesh) was allegedly raped by the manager of a company she earlier used to work with. If we look into details, one Krishna Ranjan, a manager at a packers and movers' company in Hyderabad allegedly misbehaved with a woman colleague at his office who worked as a computer operator. Unable to take the sexual harassment, the woman employee quit the job and left for her native place.

The boss, who allegedly forced her to add him up in her Facebook account, when she joined his company had continued to stay in touch with her through social networking website. The man, who apparently had a beast in him, couldn't control his lust. One fine day (December 10) he reportedly left for Eluru and met this ex-employee. He presumably acted as if he just got a call that his father met with an accident and pleaded her to accompany him till Hyderabad from Eluru.

The tour was successfully planned by the wicked boss and the innocent employee blindly trusted him. On their way back to Hyderabad, the accused spiked her drink with sedatives. After consuming the drink her boss offered her, the woman lost her consciousness. She was then taken to his house in Balanagar area of Hyderabad where he raped her for two days. Two days later, the father of the girl lodged a complaint with Kukatpally police. The cops tracked him, rescued the victim and arrested the accused. Manager was today produced before the court. He was charged with kidnap and rape.

As rightly said by Mahatma Gandhi, Literary education is of no value if it is not able to build up a sound character.

While the incident that took place in Delhi involved illiterates, here the sophisticated rape was done by an educated person who worked as a manager. And it was women who had to pay price for the wicked thoughts of men.

Message to girls: Never blindly believe men just based on their education and position because education and character are two different things. Although end of all knowledge is to build up a sound character, how many of them are looking education from that angle? A million dollar question! Therefore, it's always safe to 'avoid tours and drinks' offered by someone out of your family.

Chicago, Jan 07: 'It's sad. It's very sad. But I guess it's true when they say that money is the root of all evil'.

A hardworking Indian immigrant who hit the lottery for a $1 million last summer was apparently lethally poisoned with cyanide only a single day after officials cut the check for his winnings.

Urooj Khan, 46, paid $60 for two lottery tickets at a Chicago 7-11 in June, and, upon scratching the second one, reportedly leaped in the air and repeatedly shouted, 'I hit a million!'

Days later, with his wife and daughter at his side at the same convenience store in West Rogers Park in which he bought the winning ticket, Khan gleefully - and fatefully - accepted an over sized, mock check from lottery officials, The Chicago Tribune reports.

A check for the $425,000 in prize money, however, wasn't actually cut until July 19. The next day, or July 20, Khan reportedly eturned to his home from work in Chicago's Far North Side, ate dinner and adjourned to bed shortly thereafter.

But the quiescence of Khan's day - and life - was brutally interrupted a short time later when the suddenly wealthy entrepreneur woke up screaming in excruciating pain from his bed.

His frantic widow, Shabana Ansari, and daughter rushed to his side. The stricken Khan was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where doctors pronounced him dead, according to The Tribune.

Meanwhile, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, which conducted an autopsy, found no sign of foul play. And so he was laid to rest Rosehill Cemetery, The Tribune reports.

But within a week of Khan's death an apparently suspicious and unidentified relative asked the M.E. to look more closely into Khan's death, Medical Examiner Stephen J. Cina told the paper.

The ME subsequently conducted a comprehensive toxicology examination of Khan's corpse, and startlingly determined the Indian immigrant had died from a lethal amount of the poison cyanide.

The Chicago Police Department is now treating Khan's death as a homicide, and is even considering exhuming his body to learn exactly what happened to the unfortunate immigrant.

Khan emigrated to the U.S. during the 1980s, and through hard work and discipline, reportedly saved sufficiently to open first one - and eventually three Chicago dry cleaning shops.

Hyderabad, Jan 7: Despite the brave talk of MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, his brother and party MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi appears to be fearing arrest and long term in jail as an under-trial for his inflammatory speech against Hinduism and Hindu gods. There are already charges that he was faking ill health to escape arrest. To ascertain his actual health condition, police decided not to depend on the testimony of the doctors of the Owaisi hospital owned by the family. Police would be sending a team of government doctors to give an assessment of his health condition. Hyderabad west zone DCP Sudhir Babu went to Akbar’s house and talked to him. He later told the media that Akbar complained of back pain. He said a team of government doctors would examine him on Tuesday.

Warangal range IG Venkateswara Rao told the media that following Akbaruddin's representation of ill-health, Raghu inspector of Nirmal came to Hyderabad and visited him at his residence. The IG said that the Inspector felt that Akbaruddin's health condition was suitable for him to cooperate with police investigation. Consequently, the MLA is likely to be questioned on Tuesday.

Police who were expected to pounce on him and arrest as soon as he returned from London appear to be following a cautious approach because of the sensitivity of the issue.

Soon after coming to Hyderabad, Akbar sent two of his lawyers to Nirmal of Adilabad district and Nizamabad from where he received police summons. The lawyers explained the police that the MLA was still indisposed and would appear before them in 4 days to give personal statement. However, Nirmal police came to Hyderabad and visited Akbaruddin’s residence to know facts. They questioned him in the presence of doctors. After knowing firsthand information about his health, they also recorded his statement.

Police were unfazed when MIM workers gave “Police go back” slogans. They gave a second notice to Akbar to appear before them. Later, Hyderabad west zone DCP Sudhir Babu also went to Akbar’s house and questioned him.

Meanwhile, noose is slowly tightening around Akbar’s neck. Responding to a petition, Nampalli court directed the petitioner, a lawyer, to state if action could be taken against Akbar, a legislator, without the permission of the Speaker. The lawyer told the court that Akbar’s speech amounted to treason and needed no permission. He has submitted CDs of the speech to the court.

Making the situation further difficult for Akbar, two more cases were also registered against him. A case was registered at Janagaon in Warangal district and another in Vijayawada. The court in Vijayawada directed Krishna Lanka police to register a case against the MLA. The seriousness of the situation became evident when the DGP said that the MIM MLA would have to appear before the investigating officers. While a total bandh was observed in Nirmal on Monday, BJP called for Nizamabad bandh on Tuesday. Adilabad police are also planning to send a team of doctors to ascertain the actual health condition of Akbar even as the BJP said that he was faking ill-health, fearing arrest.

The ethics committee of the Assembly took a serious note of the speech of Akbaruddin bordering treason. Committee member and CPI Deputy Floor Leader Koonamneni Sambasiva Rao expressed the view that action should be taken against Akbar as his remarks were against the constitution. He even suggested his disqualification. Other members also supported him. Committee chairman B Satryananda Rao said the committee if necessary could debar the MLA. The committee would examine the speech videos and recommend action to the Speaker at its next meeting.

All indications suggest that the police were slowly shortening the circle around the MLA and cutting his escape routes. When they tighten the case, it might result in prolonged incarceration.

Gorgeous actress Ileana, who recently shifted to Mumbai, in search of offers after Barfi was back to Hyderabad today to inaugurate a jewellery showroom in posh Jubilee Hills area. After inaugurating the stores, Ileana spoke to the media. She has said that she she gives due importance to Tollywood and Bollywood. It may be noted that Ileana came under severe criticism after she apparently skipped some of the promotional events for Tollywood film but took part in promotions of Burfi. Also, she was alleged to have adopted step motherly approach towards Tollywood that not only gave recognition but a new life to her.

Ruling out those rumours, Ileana said both the fields were important for her. Although Ileana might treat both the fields important but will she be given a second chance in Tollywood? Anyway, she obviously has to put on some weight to hog limelight down south. Lets see if she's really game for it.

In the wake of recent Delhi rape incident, Andhra Wishesh team carried out a drive across the city to find out if Hyderabad was a safe place. Unfortunately, it isn't in the words of many girls and young women who complained to our team that harassment that they go through at many bus stops in the city. Even our team found out the way men were trying to approach these women but on seeing our team, they fled from the scene. Here are some of the places that women-time and again-go through series of comments passed by miscreants.

Srinagar bus stop: Our team noticed that several youth pass lewd comments on the girls.

Secunderabad railway station main bus stand: The main bus stop, from where buses leave for Mehedipatnam, in Secunderabad is a crowded place. With so many people trying to search for buses and with the horns of buses, no one would really pay concentration on the surroundings. We often presume that bustling streets are safe. Take time and observe around, you will notice a bunch of youths who stare at women. Same is the situation at Secunderabad bus stop. When women pass by the lane next to Alfa Hotel, several youths pass lewd comments and they even try to approach them.

Koti Sultan Bazar: This is another bustling street wherein women throng to purchase fancy items. However, you can also observe some youths who would be wandering aimlessly. They pass comments and try to approach the women on streets in the pretext of searching for some stores or items.

Nagole: There's a wine shop just behind the bus stop. Although our team didn't see anyone commenting, but staring at women standing in
bus stops was observed. Also, our team was shocked to note the way people booze outside the wine shop and in the open place next to that place.

Measures:

The Hyderabad police should take up the matter seriously. In fact, the above mentioned places are just examples. There could be many more places wherein women might feel unsafe. Andhra Wishesh strongly advocates and demands that following measures should be adopted at these places with immediate effect as situation at these places was alarming.

At least three constables including women police should be asked to picket at all these places

Two cops should be allowed to sit in a building and observe the area with binoculars or telescopes. If they suspect that a group is laughing or looking at a woman/girl, they should immediately alert the nearby constables and apprehended

Posters should be stuck to the walls, by the police, that eve teasers would not be spared with illustrations since most of the eve teasers are apparently uneducated

Media should also keep an eagle eye on these areas

One or two constables should be ordered to picket the areas in civil to take note of regular eve teasers

While uproar is going on across the country over Delhi rape, perverts in the country are still resorting to heinous crimes. Women in Hyderabad too are seriously worried over the same. Let us stop Hyderabad from hitting headlines for Hyderabad. Let us all join hands and not rely entirely on police. Wherever such incident takes place (eve teasing), let us condemn it and safeguard women.

Noted vernacular news channel TV9's sting operation, Operation Dirty Picture has received good response from the public who have reportedly started sharing the shameful truths-unearthed by the media-on their social networking profiles. What this Operation Dirty Picture was all about? Well, it involved a character artiste of television soaps ( a yesteryear film star too who appeared in two films) and her husband. And the story was about how girls-wishing to become film actresses-would be thrown to VIPs as prey.

When films like Kadgam hit the screens, people in the state were shocked. Some argued that such things might not take place while some said it was common in all fields. Whatever it might be so far people came across only casting couch and now TV9 showed that even casting couch has two sides just like a coin. People might have heard the one side of the coin-directors or producers-asking for favours while offering roles. The other side, unveiled by TV9, was even more dangerous that can, in fact, slowly trap the girls in to flesh trade.

A girl, in the guise of a film actor aspirant, approached this senior TV actress. And she lured the girl to change the way she looked (asking her to wear skin tight clothes) while her husband enquired whether she has the culture of taking alcohol by directly questioning as to which brand she prefers. She further asked this sting operation girl the way she has to adjust with some people and serve them in order to grab the film offers. Also, she stressed it might take at least a year and more....Till then she should keep becoming a toy in VIPs bed, probably this was her intention as she stressed time and again that success doesn't come in a day. But what success has to do with skin tight clothes? What success has to do with serving aged bachelors at star hotels?

While the entire country is crying over the crimes against women, it's shameful that this TV artiste is luring women to compromise on ethics for earning big. Film industry, which cries so loud over piracy, is perhaps paying deaf ear and insensitive attitude towards the problems of women in the society.

The successful duo Power Star and star writer Trivikram's venture might be delayed for some more time.Pawan had developed an acute pain in his back since sometime, around the shooting of 'Gabbar Singh.' The pain persisted even while 'Cameraman Gangatho Rambabu' was going on. But now it seems to have worsened and the actor is flying abroad for treatment.After the success of 'Jalsa,' the pair signed another film and fans were eagerly awaiting it. The film was initially delayed with pre-production works and later for want of a suitable lucky lady for the project. The state Brahmin Associations met the President Shri Pranab Mukerjee today (January 01) in the morning at Hyderabad. After exchanging pleasantries the team impressed his excellency, over the recent excesses in some films that hurt their sentiment. They requested him to curb such insults that are going unheeded in the censor board.They also felt that the rules in censor board must be made stringent towards issues that play on the sentiments of the people of a particular sect.Recently two films in Tollywood attracted the ire of the community. The two films were Denikaina Ready and a Woman in Brahminism. Some controversial scenes in these two films had been objected by the association. Industry saw a rough weather prevailing for sometime when the films were released.Denikaina Ready was produced by veteran actor Mohan babu and stared his son Manchu Vishnu and Hansika Motwani. While some from the same sect supported the film, many objected and sought the cut in scenes.On the other hand, a Woman in Brahminism was based on a popular Telugu novel, Brahmaneekam written by Gudipati Chalam. The storyline of this film was about a sexstarved Brahmin woman who enters into illicit affair with a man of aI lower cast.Both these films were severely objected by the association even after the state censor board certifying the films after the cuts it felt necessary. However the controversy raked in rich moolah to the producers.

New Delhi: Fresh facts have emerged in the case of a minor girl molested in a bus in New Delhi with police arresting her teenaged brother for allegedly raping her six months ago and molesting her thereafter.
The tragic story of the girl unfolded on Sunday after the 16-year-old girl recorded her statement with police.Her brother Nazakkat Ali (19) was arrested following her complaint.The girl was molested on Saturday night allegedly by a conductor when she had ran away from her house following harassment by her family.
The conductor Ranjit Singh was arrested in connection with the case, which comes close on the heels of the brutal gangrape of a girl in a moving bus in south Delhi.Police went to her house in west Delhi’s Khyala on Sunday to record her statement during which she told investigators about her ordeal.
A senior police official said her father had married thrice and they were living with his third wife. She claimed that there were problems in the family.“She also told us that her brother had raped her six months ago and was molesting her thereafter. We have arrested the boy,” the official said.
On Saturday night, the girl had left her house at around 9:30 pm and when the bus reached Mandi House at around 11pm, police personnel noticed the girl inside the bus alone crying.A case of kidnapping was found registered about her at Khyala police station after her family approached police.

Hyderabad, Dec 31: Representatives of several Brahmin associations urged the President Pranab Mukherjee to withdraw the Padma Sri title of actor and producer Mohan Babu.

These representatives met the President on Monday and complained to him about the controversy over Mohan Babu’s recent film ‘Denikaina Ready’, featuring his son Manchu Vishnu. They told the president that the film had hurt the sentiments of Brahmins.

They also submitted a memorandum to the president who is in Hyderabad as part of his southern sojourn.

Hyderabad, Dec 31: A businessman from Andhra Pradesh is suspected to have been shot dead by burglars in a supermarket in Cincinnati, Ohio, US.

G. Venkat Reddy was found dead in the supermarket he used to run, the businessman's family in Karimnagar town was informed late Sunday.

He was allegedly attacked by the burglars, who escaped with 800 dollars. Venkat Reddy, 48, had gone to the US 12 years ago. His wife Kavitha is a software engineer in the US and they have a son.

When Venkat Reddy did not return home Saturday night, his wife tried to contact him over his mobile phone. She grew anxious as her husband was not picking up the phone. She along with her neighbour then reached the supermarket only to find Venkat Reddy in a pool of blood.

Police initially registered a case of suspicious death but are now probing it as a case of murder, family members said.

A pall of gloom descended on the house of Venkat Reddy's sister at Mankammathota in Karimnagar town, 170 km from here. His brother-in-law Shyam Sunder Reddy, an advocate, will leave for the US to bring home the body.

Hyderabad, Dec 31: Gade Venkat Reddy, a Seemandhra Congress leader, who participated in the recent all-party meeting in New Delhi on December 28 on Telangana issue as a representative of the Congress from the Seemandhra region asserted that Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde had not said that the Congress was in favour of division of the State. He also said that he would retire from politics if anybody proved that Sushil Kumar Shinde had announced that the Congress was inclined to divide the State. 

Speaking to the media at the CLP office here on Monday, Gade said he batted for the United Andhra Pradesh and argued in favor of Samaikyandhra and K R Suresh Reddy argued in favor of separate Telangana State. Gade said there was no truth in the reports published by a section of the media that Sushil Kumar Shinde did not allow him to speak at the meeting. 

Faulting K R Suresh Reddy’s statement that Shinde had said that the Congress was in favour of division of the State, Gade said, “I am sorry to say that he twisted the facts”. Reiterating that there was no unanimous opinion in the Congress party on Telangana issue, Gade said he would stick to whatever decision taken by the party high command though he was a staunch integrationist. 

Alleging that the TDP had adopted separate Telangana stand only to disturb the Congress politically as it was done in 2009 elections by entering into an alliance with the TRS, he said the TDP and CPI were adopting opportunistic political policy on Telangana issue by changing their stand now and then. He said there was no need to bother about YSRCP, which said nothing at all-party meeting.

The Seemandhra leader said the Congress high command directed the Congress representatives to express their individual views and it was not correct to say that the Congress was for division of the State. He said the Congress was not a sub-regional party to have consensus.

He said the Centre was the final authority to take a decision on Telangana issue and all have to abide by it. He felt that the TDP would face severe repercussions soon for agreeing division of the State. He also quoted former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s statement that division of the State was not correct.

Hyderabad, Dec 31: In yet another shocking incident, a 16-year-old girl was murdered by a youth in Andhra Pradesh's Ranga Reddy district. She was suspected to have been raped by the accused before killing her.The girl, a student of Class 10, was found hanging from a tree Sunday evening in a farm in Dasarlapally village in Ranga Reddy district, about 100 km from here.According to police, the girl, a student of a school at Kandukur, came to the village on a holiday and went to the field for some work. A few hours later, her body was found hanging from a mango tree.A police officer said they found a 16-year-old youth in unconscious state nearby. Police arrested U. Naresh, who allegedly attempted to rape the girl. When she resisted, he brutally assaulted her and hanged her from the tree.The body was sent for autopsy. The police said they were investigating if the girl was raped before being killed.The latest incident came even as four incidents of rapes and attempts to rape were reported from different parts of the state in last two days. A police constable and a Village Administrative Officer (VAO) in Krishna district were booked on charges of raping women in two different incidents.In another incident, a six-year-old girl was molested by a man in Prakasam district. In the fourth incident, a police constable tried to kidnap a 16-year-old girl in Nalgonda district with an intention to rape her. Locals foiled the cop's attempt and handed him over to police.

GUNTUR: Police failure in acting tough against an eve teaser drove an engineering student to make a suicide bid. The victim is struggling for survival at the Government General Hospital (GGH) at Guntur. According to information, Talathoti Prasanthi, a resident of Medikonduru village, is in the final year at RVR&JC College of Engineering near here. Hailing from a poor dalit family, the girl fought all odds before reaching the final lap of her studies. She, however, has been facing trauma in the form of an eve teaser of her village, Korivi Chennaiah.

Chennaiah, a daily-wager, has been harassing the girl by pestering her to marry him. However, his overtures became unbearable in the recent past forcing the girl even to skip college on many occasions. He is reported to have threatened to throw acid on her if she did not accept his proposal.

Shocked over the development, the girl informed her parents, who in turn lodged a complaint with the Medikonduru police about a month ago. Ironically, police took the issue lightly and did not take any action against Chennaiah.

Chennaiah is reported to have threatened the girl once again last week saying that police would not take action against him as he had political backing. Unable to tolerate the torture, Prasanthi consumed pesticide in the early hours of Wednesday.

We are not new to films that are set up with Yama Lokam backdrop. Telugu cinema has been churning out good number of 'Yama movies' in the recent past. It is Allari Naresh's turn to test this formula.

What is it about?

Naresh (Allari Naresh) marries Lord Yama (Sayaji Shinde) daughter Yamaja (Richa Panai) in a stage play and she comes after him saying that he is her real husband. When Naresh too falls for her Yama comes from Yama Loka to take back his daughter. Naresh follows him there as he has special powers.

Performances:

Naresh has done well within his limitations. He is at ease in comedy scenes and did his best in emotional situations. Richa Panai is just a glam doll. Sayaji Shinde didn't suit the role of Yama. Master Bharat as Young Yama is good. Krishna Bhagavan is hilarious and Raghu Babu is loud. Ramya Krishna is decent. Tanikella Bharani is topnotch.

On the Technical Front:

Koti's music is not good. Except for Atho Athamma kooturo remix nothing really works. Dialogues are good with fine one liners. Graphics are okay and the art department has done a neat job. Production values are good for a film with medium range star cast.

Director Sattibabu made sure that there is enough comedy in the film to make the film 'paisa vasool entertainer'. He should have written a better screenplay to make it a better film. As of now it is just an average effort from the director.

Analysis:

First half of the film races ahead with right doses of entertainment. Barring a couple of unwanted comedy scenes, first half is pretty decent with an interesting interval bang. People would expect the second half to be more fun.

However, the film fell short of expectations in the latter half as the director tried to make it a commercial film. Had he stuck to the comedy genre Yamudiki Mogudu might have scored more marks. There is not enough comedy in the second half.

The film drags on and on towards the climax. Joker song is completely unnecessary during the penultimate scene. This is where the film loses steam and ends up as an average fare. Most of Allari Naresh's films did well even with weaker content than this. So this should fare well at the box office too.

Verdict: Mass comedy with a sentimental climax

Hyderabad, Dec 26: Notwithstanding the high expectations that a section of Congress leaders have, the all-party meeting convened by the central government over the Telangana issue Dec 28 is not likely to achieve any breakthrough in finding a solution to the contentious issue.

With just two days to go for the much-awaited meet, three major parties in Andhra Pradesh are yet to name their representatives, indicating their dilemma in taking a clear stand on the issue. 

The ruling Congress, the main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress, which is emerging as a key force, remain divided along regional lines.

With Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde inviting two representatives from each party, all the three are under pressure to send delegates from both Telangana and Seemandhra (Rayalaseema and Andhra regions).

While their leaders from Telangana want statehood, their counterparts from Seemandhra are opposed to Andhra Pradesh's division. 

Five other parties invited to the meet which have taken a clear stand on the issue have announced their representatives.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Communist Party of India (CPI) want a Telangana state. The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) and the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) are opposed to the state's bifurcation.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, in-charge of party affairs in the state, has dampened the spirits of Telangana leaders by stating that since Shinde recently took over as the home minister, he convened the meeting to know the views of the parties afresh.

Political observers say if eliciting the opinion of the parties is the purpose of the meeting, it will not achieve any breakthrough. 

Since the divergent views in the major parties are known and with no hopes of unanimity, the meeting may end in a failure like the two previous ones held in 2010 and 2011.

Congress leaders from Telangana, including some MPs, had asked Shinde to invite only one representative from each party.

The Congress is finding itself in a tight spot over the issue as there is pressure both from within and outside to take a clear stand. 

The TDP and the YSR Congress are in fact waiting for the ruling party to declare its stand.

The Congress is reluctant. "We will take a stand after hearing other parties," said state Congress chief Botsa Satyanarayana.

A section of Congress leaders are pessimistic about the outcome of the all-party meeting. 

They believe the central government is not inclined to carve out Telangana state as this could trigger demands for smaller states in other parts of the country.

The Congress leadership is keen to drag the issue till the 2014 Lok Sabha election. Some of its leaders from Telangana, however, have warned that the party may have to pay a heavy price in the region. 

With the TRS and pro-Telangana groups threatening to crush parties which don't support the Telangana demand, both the Congress and TDP face desertions in the region, made up of 10 districts including Hyderabad.

The upcoming meeting appears to be aimed at pacifying a section of its MPs from Telangana who set Dec 9 as the deadline for an announcement on taking forward the Telangana movement.

The Srikrishna committee report, submitted in December 2010, is also gathering dust. The panel had mooted six possible solutions to the issue.

Shahrukh is returning back to his favourite forte 'romance' once again and he is going to remind DDLJ. Deepika will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar and in that traditional wear she looks fab. Wait for few more months to catch a glimpse of this jodi on the silver screen again!
