Tollywood is full of politics, especially since there is a tremendous competition among heroes. At this stage, some feelers are creating unnecessary misunderstandings among the directors.
This has happened to Srikanth Addala, who delivered the biggest flop for Mahesh in the name of Brahmotsavam. There is a rumour that Srikanth has got a bumber offer from Mega compound, saying that the Mega family wants to do a film with him if there is a good story.
This rumour is being spread with some more masala on the social networking sites. According to this, mega family encourages directors who made flop films earlier.
For instance, Sukumar got a offer with Ram Charan Teja after his film “One” with Mahesh flopped; so did Srinu Vaitla, who made Bruce Lee with Charan, after his earlier film Aagadu flopped; V V Vinayak is making Kathilantodu with Chiranjeevi after his earlier film Akhil ended up as a disaster; Trivikram was asked to make Julayi with Bunny after his earlier film Khaleja bombed at box office etc.
So, what is the reason for mega family entertaining directors whose earlier films with other heroes flopped? Who is behind creating these rumours? Well, it makes an interesting probe!

Mahesh Babu was deeply hurt with the disastrous result of "Brahmotsavam". The only person who should be blamed for this mess is director Sreekanth Addala but Mahesh Babu reportedly took the blame on himself for this failure.
As Mahesh Babu showed his magnanimous nature by not blaming him, the director Sreekanth Addala is said to have decided to issue a sort of public apology. This was suggested by his close friends that he should also take blame for the failure.
His close associates say if he were given enough time and he were allowed to release the full length of the movie he shot, the movie's result would have better. But other say, people would have run out from the theaters if the film was released with 3 plus hours of runtime.
But he has not made up of his mind but sources close to Addala say he would personally meet Mahesh Babu once the superstar comes from his foreign trip and talk to him.

Comedian turned hero Sunil is struggling to score a hit recently and his decision to reject a role topped the discussion chart in film nagar.

It is heard that Sunil refused to act with Chiranjeevi in his 150th. It is role that stays with Chiru as a friend or assistant, more like a side kick he played in Chiru's Tagore. Audience and movie buffs complain about Sunil movies' monotonous comedy and they really want him back into comedy, his biggest asset.

May be he did not want to dilute his hero image with comedy roles, Sunil reportedly refused to be in it. And the role went straight to Vennela Kishore who has been playing a lot of roles like these lately.

These roles were played by Sunil, Ali and sometimes Venu Madhav too in few films, but after Sunil is looking seriously for heroic roles, Vennela Kishore is bagging most of them and he is worth it too.

We have to see if Sunil regrets for rejecting this role in prestigious movie of Chiru 150 or he will just score a hit with his next movie to prove his move right. -

Nearly 600 app-based taxis have been impounded by the enforcement wing of the Transport Department for using surge pricing despite a ban, an official said.

“Out of the 591 taxis impounded, 400 belong to a controversial big player whose drivers have been involved in crimes against commuters,” said an official, adding that checking surge-pricing was proving to be a big challenge for the transport department due to its limited resources.

During the action against app-based cabs and private buses between May 1-26, enforcement teams also caught vehicles from other states which were running as taxis in Delhi.

Surge pricing was banned by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during the odd-even scheme last month when commuters complained of exploitation by the app-based aggregators.
“Over 60 teams of the enforcement wing were deployed during the drive. The focus of the drive was around inter-state bus terminals and Ring Road,” said an official.

During the drive, the Transport Department also penalised 166 contract buses for violating permit conditions during focused action on buses between May 13-24.

“Many of the buses impounded by us were holding national permit but these were functioning like stage carriages and picking up passengers from different points and ferrying them to NCR towns. This is not permitted under the rules,” he said.

On disciplining app-based cab aggregators, an official said a major app-based taxi operator recently assured the Delhi government that it would follow the rates set by the Delhi government yet its cabs were found collecting surge price from commuters.

“The company even claims that the per km rate it charges is less than the rate fixed by the government,” said the official.
The action against cab aggregators and contract buses comes close to the proposed rollout app based premium buses in the city from June 1. Registration of bus aggregators is likely to begin in the first week of next month, while the premium buses would hit the road by mid-June.

The proposal has run into trouble with Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung showing a red light to it. Jung has sought clarification from the AAP government on the proposal amid reports that his name was illegally used in a notification by Arvind Kejriwal government early this month.

Sources said Jung was also looking into allegations that there was an attempt to favour a particular aggregator in the premium bus scheme.

According to Transport Minister Gopal Rai, the introduction of app-based buses will encourage car users to switch to air-conditioned buses, with facilities like app-based seat booking, GPS tracking, availability of free WiFi and CCTV monitoring.

Private passenger aggregators with a minimum of 50 buses can register under the scheme, recently notified by the government. Fine ranging from Rs 2,500-5,000 would be imposed on app-based bus aggregators if their vehicle’s staff ferries commuters without advance ticked booked through app.

Rai has made it clear that the fares of premium buses will not be regulated or subsidised by the government.

A letter, which is gossiped to have been written by Telangana exhibitors (owners of film theaters) of 'Brahmotsavam' to Telangana State Film Chamber of Commerce (TSFCC), is doing rounds in social media. The exhibitors pleaded the TSFCC to get them provided compensation from the film's producers, hero and the director. The details of the letter are given below.
"Mahesh Babu starrer 'Brahmotsvam', produced by PVP banner, under Srikanth Addala's direction, got released on May 20. The film's makers got the prices equal to 'Srimanthudu's shares as minimum guarantee (MG) from the exhibitors. This is the worst ever flop among Mahesh's films. This film is even worse than a TV serial. As you know, this is a bitter truth. As such we are requesting TSFCC to do proper justice to us through Mahesh, Srikanth Addala and PVP. When 'Baba' film suffered with losses, honourable Rajinikanth garu compensated the losses to exhibitors. We suffered 80 naya paise per a rupee (80%) loss with 'Brahmotsavam'. Hence, you are requested to discuss the issue with Abhishek Pictures, PVP and Srikanth Addala to do justice to us......from the exhibitors of 'Brahmotsavam', Telangana."
It remains to be seen the response of TSFCC and 'Brahmotsavam's production team with the letter from exhibitors.

Washington: Mirror, Mirror on the wall, who is the most presidential of them all? That's the question American voters are asking as they size up the three survivors in the White House race.
Supporters of "Dodging Donald" Trump, as critics call the Republican now sitting pretty with magical 1,237 delegates to lock the party nomination, have eyes only for the Manhattan mogul.
Diehard backers of mathematically-challenged "Crazy Bernie" Sanders, as the billionaire has dubbed him, have ears only for the self-styled Democratic socialist.
And "Clearance Merchandise," as a columnist described the Democratic frontrunner or "Crooked Hillary" Clinton, as Trump has branded her, too has her own legion of defenders of the faith. Poor Hillary, she thought her coronation as the Democratic nominee was a done deal despite an annoying Bernie snapping at her heels to the chagrin of the party establishment.
Then, a State Department independent watchdog's scathing report on Clinton's use of a private server at home for official work as secretary of state sent her "drowning in emails" as the New York Times put it.
A gloating Trump "Celebrating 1,237!" was quick to rub it in. The report was "not good" for "Crooked Hillary." It was "devastating", said the master of a "fifth grade" speech.
Bernie supporters too saw in a parallel FBI probe into Clinton emails an "answer to their prayers" as the Times put it, as the former first lady's lead in the prized June 7 California primary quickly evaporated.
And when Senator Elizabeth Warren, a key supporter, took up cudgels on her behalf to suggest Trump was "drooling over the housing crisis", he dismissed her as a Clinton "Pocahontas" and again changed the conversation.
When the media questioned him about an "offensive" reference to a Native American notable for her association with the colonial settlement at Jamestown, Virginia, in the 17th century, an unapologetic Trump quipped: "Oh, I am sorry! But Warren has a big mouth."
Going on late night comic Jimmy Kimmel's show, Trump also promptly accepted a suggestion to debate Sanders before the California primary.
"I would love to do that" in a massive arena, said the business mogul provided $10-15 million was raised for a charity with the promise of huge ratings for the host channel.
Then Sanders, who's peeved that Hillary Clinton was backing out of a planned Democratic debate, jumped on the offer. "Game on," he tweeted and boasted if Trump did not chicken out, the billionaire would be toast.
As the idea of what Democratic media strategist Brad Bannon called a "complete circus," of a novel inter-party debate, gathered steam, Trump did walk back.
He first called it a "joke" and then said now that he had become the Republican top dog it would be "inappropriate" for him to debate the straggling Democrat.
Meanwhile, as Trump completed the "hostile takeover" of the Republican party with his magic 1,237, a vanquished "Little Marco" Rubio came out of hiding with an offer to release his pledged delegates "to be helpful" to Trump's campaign.
Hours later, Trump who once called Rubio a "joke," a "choker," and a "dishonest lightweight" who "couldn't get elected dog catcher in Florida," graciously pushed him to re-run for the Senate. "Important to keep the MAJORITY. Run Marco!" he tweeted.
And as the three White House contenders called each other liars and worse and unqualified to be the president, the Washington Times offered a novel insight into the making of a president sans pundits and pollsters.
Saying that "size matters", it noted the taller candidate has won the popular vote in more than two-thirds of the elections since 1950.
And by that measure, come November 8, Trump, who stands 6 feet 2 inches to Clinton's 5 feet 4 to 7 inches, according to varied calculations, would win hands down -- big or 'small' as "Rubio" once insinuated. Let "rattled" foreign leaders be forewarned!

Telugu-dubbed Tamil film Bichagadu is surprise winner at the BO. Starring Vijay Anthony, the socio-family drama released with minimum expectations turned out to be sleeper hit in this season.

Producer Chadalavada Srinivas, who has spent a meagre Rs 50 Lakh for the film, too stunned with the record business the film is doing. Trade reports are rife that the movie has grossed over 7 Crore share and expected to do over Rs 10 Crore share in AP, TS in its full run.

What's more? Unique promotional campaign has worked well. Producer Chadalavada has stuck to print media publicity alone and conveniently avoided showcasing the film's trailer on news channels, GECs.

At a time even when star-studded flicks like Vijay's Theri, Suriya's 24 didn't do well as expected, definitely Bichagadu seems to be a game changer.

Finding perfect heroine for Nandamuri Balakrishna has become a big headache to director Krish. His original choices were Anushka and Nayanathara but both of them are busy with their other commitments and have no dates to cater to this movie.
Since “Gauthamiputra Satakarni” is a prestigious movie for both Balakrishna and Krish, Krish is seeking huge call sheets of a heroine. Hence Nayanathara turned down the offer, say the sources.
Finally the team reportedly found that Shriya would be the ideal choice for the role of Satakarni’s wife in the movie. Balakrishna too is said to have given his nod to this choice. Krish has already spoken to her, the sources say.
Shriya has acted with Balakrishna in “Chenna Keshava Reddy” and this would be her second film with him. Shriya still maintains great physique, so even today she is getting offers to play as heroine even though she has been acting in the movie industry for more than 15 years.

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has refuted reports that his upcoming production "Udta Punjab", which is based on issue of drug abuse in Punjab, has been banned by the censor board.

There are reports that the Shahid Kapoor-Kareena Kapoor film has failed to get censor board's approval due to excessive swearing and drug consumption.

Kashyap has said the board's examining committee has forwarded the decision to revising committee and hence film is far from being banned.

And due process takes it own time so please abstain for spreading a BAN rumour. There is nothing to speak on the subject as of now," the "Bombay Velvet" director tweeted.

At least 4 Africans were attacked by a local mob with bricks, bats and iron rods in an urban village in south Delhi’s Mehrauli area on Thursday night. Two of them needed medical treatment.
The mob targeted them as they passed through the same lane, at different time during a half-hour period in Rajpur Khurd village. The attacks come six days after a Congolese French language teacher was bludgeoned to death on a south Delhi street. “None of the African nationals agreed to give a complaint. However, the local police acting on their own have registered criminal cases,” said a senior police officer.
The victims told DH that racist slurs were hurled at them, but police denied any racist angle. “The accused involved in the incidents have been identified and efforts are on to arrest them soon,” said a senior police officer. The victims charged that their attackers told them to “go back to Africa”.  They also used slurs like ‘habshi’.
One of the victims is Kenneth, 27, a Nigerian who sings gospels at a local church.
He told DH that around 10.45 pm, he was returning home from a church meeting with his wife and their 4 month-old-son in his car when a mob of local residents blocked his path. “As I was driving back home, a group of 15-20 people with iron rods, bricks and cricket bats in their hands asked me to stop the car,” said Kenneth.
As he stopped a few metres away from the group, the men shouted: “You African baba come down,” asking him to get out of the car.
Kenneth initially didn’t open the car door, but then they started banging on it. One of them hit the back windshield with a heavy object. The moment Kenneth stepped out, he was hit with an iron rod on the shoulder and the face. “The mob attacked every African who passed through the lane between 10.30 pm to 11 pm.

We asked help from the locals, but no one came forward,” Shamira, another victim who is an Ugandan national, told DH. “I was also beaten up in the melee. However I told them that I was also an Indian and spoke to them in Hindi. They let me go, but chased Shamira,” said Sonia, Shamira’s friend.
Police said the reason for Thursday’s attacks is not clear.
