F Tollywood Celebrities !!

Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Leela Bhansali have come together a third time for Padmavati after Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela and Bajirao Mastani.

If buzz is to be believed then Priyanka Chopra was in the running for this role, however Deepika managed to bag it.

A source tells us that since Padmavati is her first film post her Hollywood venture, Deepika decided to increase her fee by a few crores.

Although we don't exactly know how much, but the new price is somewhere around Rs 11-12 crore, thereby making her the highest paid Bollywood actress today.

Also, with this, Deepika is giving many Bollywood actors a run for their money. It's a no brainer that the new breed of heroes are being paid much lesser compared to her.

Sunil who started his career as comedian went on to become star comedian in no time. When his career was in full swing, Sunil had tested his luck as hero with Andala Ramudu was a decent hit. But, Rajamouli directed Maryada Ramanna gave him big break.

He told me that I have a peculiar comedy timing which he couldn't find in any other artist. He puzzled me of why choosing serious roles (Exampling Krishnashtami), when comedy is my cup of tea. Then I started realizing what mistakes I have committed so far," said Sunil.

Sunil informed that, he is just one of the comedians in Jakkanna, except for two episodes where he performs stunts. He thanked director Vamsi Krishna Akella for making the film entertainingly and writer Bhavani Prasad for penning dialogues hilariously.

It doesn't matter if you have star parents - if you deliver a flop, filmmakers stop taking your calls, says Abhishek Bachchan, son of Indian cinematic icon Amitabh Bachchan.

Abhishek's career graph since his debut with Refugee in 2000 shows high and low points. If his performances in films like Guru, Dhoom, Bunty Aur Babli, Dostana and Bol Bachchan have been applauded, he has also earned his share of criticism for some of his career choices.

"I've completed 16 years in the industry and it has been a mix of highs and lows. There has been tremendous learning and I'm still hungry to do a lot more. It's been a great journey and it makes me happy and proud that I'm a part of this industry," Abhishek told IANS in an email interview arranged by Omega, the official timekeeper of Olympics. Abhishek is the brand ambassador for Omega.

"The low phase that I went through, I think, was necessary. It teaches you a lot. I believe there is no success without failure. It keeps you grounded and makes you appreciate things," Abhishek said when asked about his time in the industry.

He admits a flop film doesn't leave one feeling good.

"If we give a flop film, people stop taking our calls; then it does not matter whose kid you are. It's true that a flop is the worst feeling in the world and destroys you as a human being," added the 40-year-old actor.

An ardent believer in the power of staying positive, Abhishek said: "If you want good things to happen in your life, you first have to believe good things are possible for yourself".

"Every actor is very emotional and so am I. I feel it's important to learn to see the brighter side of life, and possess a sense of humour for that. My sense of humour has saved me many times when I have felt low," Abhishek said.

"When you are low, you have to be very positive and think of the bright side. And I think I am a very positive person," said Abhishek. He is married to actress Aishwarya Rai and they are parents to have daughter Aaradhya.

Abhishek said that he is not even affected by trolls on social media, which have often hit out at him for his choice of movies.

"If you are present on a social platform, you are available to everything on it and that's fair. It's all in jest and for fun. I just feel that once in a while, it's nice to give back to them some of their own medicine. And it's fun," he said.

However, he said, he stops being interactive when trolls cross a line. "The minute they stop being witty about it and start getting abusive, there's no more fun and you stop. That's it, but I enjoy it," he added.

Interestingly, the social media has emerged as a platform where actors whole-heartedly appreciate the work of their colleagues - this, despite the competition in the film industry.

"Definitely! There is no harm in appreciating good work. I believe in supporting and encouraging my peers. I think tinselville is going past the cliched catfights and is coming together in support of each other on all platforms," he said.

Tollywood these days is using classic titles to the core, but failing to deliver stupendous hits with them, while only a few have succeeded. While Mahesh's Srimanthudu clicked, other old titles like Geethanjali and Shankarabaranam haven't impressed much.

Even director Boyapati Srinu was supposed to use the classic title of Pushpaka Vimanam for his film. For his next that features Bellamkona Srinivas as a hero, Boyapati, initially thought of this title. As we all know, Kamal's Pushpaka Vimanam is a trendsetter those days. However Boyapati failed to use it because the title doesn't have mass appeal.

Leave the mass appeal of this title, will Boyapati's mass subjects suite this title? Thank God, he relieved that title from going into a punch.

In what is considered as a major set back, comedian-turned-hero Sunil's forthcoming film Jakkanna may not see the light of the day in overseas market. Poor buzz and Sunil's flop saga is reason behind it and apparently no one in the overseas market is daring to buy the film.

There are no takers for the film in overseas. Though there's a stiff competition in abroad for the distribution of Telugu films of late and the competition is high even for small-hero films, shockingly Sunil's Jakkanna have no takers.

Especially Sunil's last film Krishnashtami was bought in overseas for around Rs 80 Lakh. And much to the dismay, the film even failed to recover its expenses, publicity cost. The distributors suffered heavy losses and no one come to their rescue. This is now said to have telling affect on Jakkanna. Looks like, Sunil's Jakkanna may not hit the screens on July 29 simultaneously with India. Unless the movie receives good talk and positive reviews here, the film may not be released in overseas.

Sunil, who is going through a lean phase, had his last solo success four years ago - Poola Rangadu (2012). He got three poor hits in form of Mr Pellikodudu, Bhimavaram Bullodu and Krishnashtami. He is now pinning all hopes on his next. It's now or never for situation for Sunil. He has to prove himself to continue as hero. -
