It may be recalled that the CBI found that Dasari had done undue favors to the Jindal group of companies and got investments into his Siri Media, in a quid pro quo operation similar to the one followed by Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
CBI initially stated that Dasari received Rs. 2.25 crore as an indirect kickback for allotting coal blocks to the Jindal group.
It is in this context that Dasari reportedly sought the help of Chiranjeevi, who expressed his helplessness. It is learnt that state ministers and close followers of Chiru, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and C Rama Chandraiah also refused to come to the rescue of Dasari.
It is being said that Chiranjeevi was hurt by the frequent criticism of his family by Dasari and this was the reason why he kept clear of Dasari's problems.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Dasari suspected that there was disinformation campaign against him as part of a conspiracy to defame him. Stating that he was a ‘Bobbili Puli’ and not ‘Boggula Puli’, Dasari assured his fans that facts would soon come out and asked them not to be worried.
It may be recalled that the CBI has said that an amount of Rs.2.25 crore was transferred to a company owned by Dasari from the Jindal group, as a quid pro quo deal for the coal blocks he has sanctioned for it, violating the rules. CBI is charging that the Jindal group was sanctioned the coal mines on the basis of fake documents.
Apart from Dasari, CBI also named Congress MP Naveen Jindal, head of the group, as an accused in the case. It may be mentioned that the CBI conducted raids on Dsari's his offices and residence on Tuesday. CBI which already questioned Dasari once earlier, conducted extensive searches at his office and residence on Tuesday. It is learnt that CBI has information that Dasari had done some out of the turn favours for the Jindal group when he was the union minister. Searches which the CBI started at Dasari’s places at around 6 am on Tuesday, continued till 3 pm. Dasari was not allowed to either move out or answer phones during the period, said reports. CBI sleuths reportedly seized some documents from Dasari’s residence and office.
Five coal blocks were sanctioned to the Jindal group of Navin Jindal, a Congress MP during Dasari’s tenure as minister. Santosh Bagrodia was also a minister of state of the department at the time, along with Dasari.
Cases against Dasari and Jindal were registered in connection with the allocation of coal blocks in Amarakonda Murgadangal of Jharkhand. It is being said that the Jindal group got the sanctions through false documents. It is being said that Dasari might be arrested any minute now.
CBI registered cases under sections 120B, read with Sections 420 and 13 (1) (D). The agency has also registered cases against four companies of Delhi including Gagan Sponge Ltd and Jindal Steel and Power Limited and the Sowbhagya Media of Hyderabad. Dasari is a major stake holder of the 'Sowbhagya Media' which produces films and TV serials.
Sources said KCR informed Vijayashanthi that he will contest from his native Medak district and asked her to fight from Secunderabad. The telugu film actor turned telangana protagonist informed KCR that she is not interested to fight from the city.
Vijayashanthi was not happy for shifting her from Medak Lok Sabha Constituency. Protesting it, she did not attend a meeting conducted by KCR at party office last week. She was maintaining distance from the party and activities. KCR was trying to convince here but she is not available in the city in the last one week.
The OU students took out a bike rally from the Campus demanding that the Kiran Kumar Reddy government accord permission to the Telangana Political JAC-sponsored Chalo Assembly Rally on June 14. However, the ever vigilant police personnel stopped the students at the NCC Gate and asked them to go back. Even as the students were pleading with the policemen that they would express their protest in a peaceful and democratic manner, the fastidious police personnel resorted to raining lathi blows on the students. Enraged over the police unwarranted action, the students too picked up stones and hurled them at the policemen. There were heated exchanges between the police and the students. Later, the police took the students into custody.
The OU Students JAC leaders made it clear that they would make the Chalo Assembly Rally a great success in spite of hurdles to be created by the police and the government. They also claimed that thousands of students from all the ten districts in the Telangana region arrived in the city. They also clarified that they were not afraid of arrests and bind-over cases.
June 11: It looks as if the central government has no plans to concede the Telangana state. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde said consultations were continuing to arrive at a consensus on the Telangana issue.
Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he said it was difficult to arrive at such consensus.
When asked about Telangana Congress leaders leaving the party, Shinde said only two MPs and another leader had left the party and asserted that there would not be any more migrations. He also said no one had left the party after the three joined the TRS.
The way the UPA government has been postponing the settlement of the issue in the name of consensus, it looks as if it had no intention of conceding the separate state.
No comment on Dasari
Shinde refused to comment on the CBI raids on former union minister Dasari Narayana Rao and Congress MP Naveen Jindal.
When the media asked him about the raids on the two on Tuesday, he said the law was taking its own course. He said CBI authorities were doing their duty and there was nothing for him to comment about it. He said if they were involved in the coal scam, law would take care of it.

The internal differences in the Congress party came to the fore with the ‘Bangaru Thalli’ scheme. Ministers were divided into pro and anti Kiran groups. Rebel ministers had met on Thursday morning at the residence of Botsa Satyanarayana. The Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha, ministers Jana Reddy, Vatti Vasanta Kumar and D L Ravindra Reddy attended the meeting. It is learnt that they mainly discussed about the ‘Bangaru Thalli’ scheme in the one-hour meeting. It is learnt that the ministers expressed displeasure that the Chief Minister had not discussed the scheme in the cabinet and decided to complain against him to the High Command. It may be recalled that Botsa and DL had already criticized the Chief Minister indirectly, by stating that they knew nothing about the ‘Bangaru Thalli’ scheme.
It is learnt that the Deputy Chief Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha expressed anguish that the Chief Minister had not said a single word to him about the ‘Indiramma Kalalu’ scheme. The dissidents are planning to meet the High Command after the Karnataka Assembly elections. Talk in political circles is that they planned to make the complaint to the High Command in such a way that it would take a definite decision on the Chief Minister.
However, pro-CM ministers like Kondru Murali are claiming that the Chief Minister had discussed the ‘Bangaru Thalli’ scheme with available ministers. He dismissed dissidence by saying lightly that it was natural that one or two ministers might defer.
Addressing a mammoth public meeting here Saturday night, Naidu made a slew of promises for all sections of people and assured that if voted to power in the next elections, he would fulfill all the promises.
The leader of opposition promised waiver of all loans of farmers to make agriculture profitable, protected drinking water to every village, jobs to all educated youth and monthly unemployment allowance in the event of an educated youth not getting employment.
Sharing his experiences of the padyatra, Naidu declared that the first file he would sign after swearing in as the chief minister would be to waive farm loans.
Describing electricity shortage as the biggest problem faced by the state, Naidu promised to put the sector back on rails. He pointed out how the sector was doing well and the state made all-round progress during his nine-year rule (1995-2004).
His other promises include a comprehensive insurance scheme for poor, improving the education sector, generation of jobs for youths, protection of women and girl child, closure of belt shops (unauthorized outlets of liquor shops), and waiver of interest on loans to women's self-help groups.
Naidu targeted Congress government for its inefficiency and YSR Congress party for the corruption. He blamed Congress party's misrule for the problems faced by people, while accusing late chief minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy of looting public wealth while cheating people in the name of various welfare schemes.
He termed YSR party as a child of Congress, saying it was formed to protect the ill-gotten money. Naidu lamented that Hyderabad had become corruption capital of the country. He said ministers including the home minister were accused in YSR party leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy's illegal assets case and Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy was busy in shielding them.
Naidu ruled out any truck with communal parties and claimed that TDP was committed to protect secularism. He predicted that regional parties would sweep 2014 elections and that TDP would once again play a key role in national politics.
Thousands of people from various parts of the state turned up for what is being seen as the main opposition party's major show of strength ahead of the next year's elections to the state assembly and Lok Sabha.
Earlier, the former chief minister unveiled a 60-feet pylon to mark the culmination of 2,817 km long padyatra, the longest such padyatra undertaken by a politician in the state.
Naidu's wife Bhuvaneswari, son Lokesh, brother-in-law and popular Telugu actor N. Balakrishna and top leaders of the party were present on the occasion.
By undertaking the padyatra, the 64-year-old broke the record of his bitter rival Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, who had covered nearly 1,500 km in 64 days in 2003. That 'padyatra' helped Rajasekhara Reddy to bring Congress party to power in 2004, ending Naidu's nine-year-long rule.
Hoping to repeat history, Naidu launched his padyatra on Oct 2 last year at Hindupur in Anantapur district. He covered 16 districts, interacting with various sections of people to know their problems and making promises if TDP regains power in 2014 elections.
The moment he was informed, he was pained at the way his relatives started behaving, though he did lot of developments projects for the place he loves. Even Nimmakuru villagers remember NTR and rever him a lot. However now they are surprised that his son Balakrishna dined with the enemies of his father, by visiting Venkataratnam's son's house not once but thrice and even staying there. To the top of it he insulted his father, without garlanding his statue only because Jr.NTR unvieled his grand father NTR and grand mother Basavatarakam statue during his visit.
Many feel Harikrishna is furious over this and even Nimmakuru villagers who are surprised wrote letters to TDP office. It has to be seen what CBN and Balayya says about this.

Guntur, April 23: The love affair of Tadepalligudem MLA Eeli Nani’s daughter came before a court here. E. Ramya, daughter of ruling Congress party legislator Eeli Nani, approached the Legal Services Authority in Guntur, claiming that she was kept under "house arrest" by her father since she married her classmate Sandip in 2008 after a love affair. As per Ramya, her father "detained" her at home for four years and also tried to get her re-married after she married her lover against his wishes. The father dismissed the claims. The girl cried before the judge, who ordered police to shift her to the women's protection centre. Ramya revealed that she was in love with Sandip, her classmate in an engineering college. In an emotional outburst during an earlier press meet, the actor clarified that he is not going to file any review-petition or mercy petition to shorten the punishment awarded by Supreme Court to him. However all that talk is not holding true as Sanjay Dutt is getting ready to file a review petition very soon such that his sentence will be shortened. Sources say that Sanjay's lawyers have finally found some loop holes in the case that can bail him out. As he is acquitted under TADA charges earlier and only punished with Arms Act, he is now going to ask that the punishment should also go much softer.
Legal experts however say that it takes an year for Supreme Court to entertain and give decision on Sanjay's petition in the minimum. So the modern Sher Khan may not escape at least some time in Lord Krishna's birth place.
