Chief
Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has expressed shock and anguish over the
ghastly train accident when Hampi Express rammed into a goods train near
Penukonda in Anantapur district in the early hours of Tuesday. The
Chief Minister directed the district Collector, Superintendent of Police
and others to rush to the spot and take up relief and rescue measures
and provide medical assistance. He also extended condolences to the
bereaved family members.
On
the directions of the Chief Minister, Chief Secretary Pankaj Dwivedi
spoke to the Anantapur Collector and directed to initiate speedy rescue
and relief operations. The Chief Secretary and others are closely
monitoring the situation and are in constant touch with the Railway
officials and the district administration.
CM TO VISIT ACCIDENT SITE
Meanwhile,
the Chief Minister left for Tirupati by 12.40 pm flight on Tuesday.
From there, he will go to Penugonda train accident site. After
monitoring the rescue and relief operations at the accident site, he
will console the injured at Puttaparthi Hospital. The Chief Minister
will also review the accident and the latest situation with Railway and
State Officials.
The
Chief Minister will reach Kalikiri in Chittoor district for night halt.
On Wednesday morning, the Chief Minister will reach Tirupathi and
participate in the locally arranged programs before leaving for
Hyderabad by the evening.
