Hyderabad,
Dec 12: Near stampedes occurred at all the information centres of the
TTD as devotees thronged in large numbers for tickets for the darshan of
Lord Venkateswara on the auspicious occasion of Mukkoti Ekadasi.
As
the TTD has announced that tickets would be issued in advance for
darshan on Vaikuntha Ekadasi, people rushed to the information centres
on Tuesday night itself for the tickets that would be issued next
morning. The queue reached the GHMC office from the Liberty centre
across the road in Hyderabad.
In the morning one aged
person was said to have fainted in the pushing and jostling. He was
rushed to a hospital. Police also made a mild lathi-charge to bring
order. It is learnt that when the gates opened in the morning, people
pushed each other to be first at the counter and some persons had
sustained injuries.
Devotees are complaining that TTD employees were selling the tickets to their near and dear through the back door.
The
same kind of situation prevailed at all the centres. In Srikakulam
devotees have attacked the TTD employees as they became suspicious that
tickets were being sold in black.
