Producer: C Kalyan

Directer: Gautham Menon

Music: Ilaiyaraaja

Starring: Nani,Samantha, Krishnudu etc

Rating: 2.0/5.0

Story

Varun (Nani) and Nitya(Samantha) love each other deeply since their childhood and meet without knowledge of their parents. They join the same school, college etc and try to do things so that they could be together all the time. Suddenly things go differently when Varun (Nani) decides to give importance to his family and pursue MBA from IIMs. Misunderstandings crop up and from then on ego clashes and other problems get in their way. How they overcome them has to be enjoyed on silver screen.

Performance

Nani came out with nice performance reflecting various stages in his role. How ever his appearance will be disappoint movie lovers who are used to watch him in lover boy get up. His bearded look is a tad unlike Nani. Samantha looked extremely cute in the school days scenes and in sarees she looked gorgeous. Krishnudu tried to entertain viewers with his comedy along with other stars.

Analysis

Gautam Menon known for romantic stories came with another love story. This time however he came with just a narration of blossoming of love between a boy and girl and its progress with the passage of time. Love track established is not that convincing and sometimes tests the patience of movie lovers. Most of the time except for quarrels and brawls between the couple, sweet nothings are minimal.

Technical

Anthony's editing could have been better in the first half. Ilayaraja's music is good and it captivates music lovers. BGM score is in sync with the movie's script. Prabhu's cinematography takes movie lovers to completely different zone. Production Values are of high standards. Gautam Menon should have taken care to increase the tempo of the film as it progressed at snail pace.

Final Talk

YVM's fate will be decided by family viewers as masses will find it hard to connect with the film.

Some dates have special significance and will occur rarely. The occurrence of 11.11.11 and today 12.12.12 are two such occasions and many try to make them memorable by performing some events. There was spurt in wedding or engagements on this day with even many pregnant women competing with each other to give birth to the new born.

However Mamatha Mohan Das who mesmerized Tollywood by romancing top stars during her time has both sweet and sour memories on both the occasions. While she got engaged to Pregith Padmanabhan on 11.11.11, and even before she could enjoy and savor the sweetness of her engagement, she decided to part ways divorcing him on 12.12.12.

Mamatha said "I know nobody would ever wish to hear this. But, the fact is that after much contemplation, Pregith and I have decided to move on our individual ways. I’m very happy that we realized that we are two different types of people, who can’t journey together for long. So we took the decision before a discontented family life took us far. It’s been a few months since we started living separately. Legal procedures will begin in January next year."

Nalgonda, Dec 12: Uneasy calm prevailed in the district when the BJP activists attacked Inspector General of Police Rajiv Ratan at Yellareddiguda under Narketpally mandal on Wednesday.

The BJP enforced district bandh in protest against an attack on one Hanuman Swamy and arrest of several Hanuman devotees in Nalgonda town on Tuesday. As part of bandh, BJP activists staged a rasta-roko at Yellareddiguda village adjoining Narketpally-Nalgonda road.

Annoyed over the road blockade program, Rajiv Ratan, who was traveling on the same route to review bandh situation in the district, beat one of the activists when they obstructed the IG’s vehicle. In retaliation, the lathi-wielding activists attacked Rajiv Ratan, who was in plain clothes. As a result, the IG sustained simple injuries on his neck and hand in the attack. Alerted by the sudden attack on the IG, the police personnel stopped the agitators and escorted him from there. Ratan took treatment at the SP’s office in Nalgonda town and relaxed for a while. Later, accompanied by DIG and SP, he visited Nalgonda Old City.

Speaking to the media after the review meeting on the situation prevailing in the district, Ratan said the situation was under control. He said the Narketpally police have registered a case against the youth who had attacked him.

Meanwhile, the district wore a deserted look due to the total bandh. Business, commercial and educational institutions and petrol bunks remained closed. The police stopped the Hanuman devotees’ rally taken out from Ayyappa Temple in Ramagiri as prohibitory order under Section 144 Cr.P.C. was in force.

In Miryalaguda town and several mandals in the district, the BJP activists staged rasta rokos and took out processions.

New Delhi, Dec 2: TDP leader and MP Nandamuri Hari Krishna has expressed anger at both his brothers-in-law Chandra Babu Naidu and Dr. Venkateswara Rao. He said both were dragging the image of the family to roads, over the statue of his late father N T Rama Rao.

Stating that it was the desire of all the family members that NTR's statue should be erected in the Parliament, Hari Krishna said it was not important as to who was responsible for it. He said it was improper on the part of any one to politicize who was instrumental for it. He also felt that it was just a family matter and neither the TDP nor the sons-in-law (Naidu and Daggubati) should intervene in it.

Hari Krishna has also said that the party's image has suffered because of three MPs abstaining from the voting on the FDIs in the Rajya Sabha. He said because of what they had done, they were unable to stand upright and show their faces to other opposition members.

Hyderabad, Dec 12: The union home ministry has invited nine political parties from Andhra Pradesh for an all-party meeting on Telangana scheduled to be held Dec 28 in New Delhi.

Ignoring the demand from some Telangana parties and leaders of Congress and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) that one representative from each party be invited, the parties have been asked to nominate two representatives each.

A ministry letter said a number of representations were made by MPs to restart the dialogue on Telangana.

The letter from K. Skandan, additional secretary in the ministry of home affairs, was received by the parties Wednesday.

Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has clearly rejected the demand of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to postpone the meeting in view of World Telugu Conference at Tirupati Dec 27-29.

The ministry has invited Congress, TDP, YSR Congress Party, Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Communist Party of India (CPI), Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) and Lok Satta for the meet.

TRS leader Harish Rao said it proved that the Congress was not sincere in solving the issue. TDP leader from Telangana E. Dayakar Rao termed the meet as another ploy by the Congress.

Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) chairman M. Kodandaram said irrespective of the number of representatives invited from each party, all parties should take a clear stand on the issue.

At the two all-party meetings convened by the centre in 2010 and 2011, the representatives from major parties were divided along regional lines.

While representatives from Telangana wanted separate statehood to the region, those from Andhra and Rayalaseema opposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

The Congress, TDP, YSR Congress party and Lok Satta have not yet taken a clear stand on Telangana. The TRS, BJP and CPI are demanding separate Telangana state while CPI-M and MIM are opposed to it.

Hyderabad, Dec 10: India's ace shuttler Jwala Gutta Monday welcomed Bombay High Court's observation that it is ethically wrong for chief national badminton coach Pullela Gopichand to run a private academy in Hyderabad. The women's doubles player also questioned Gopichand Academy for collecting huge money from the budding players despite the fact that it came up on a government land and is funded by the Sports Authority of India (SAI)She told reporters here that the academy was running fully on commercial lines though it was the government which allotted land for it and was also giving the funds. The 28-year-old alleged that only those who get coaching at the academy were being selected for the tournaments. "I know a player who was among the top five but was not sent to nationals because he is from LB Stadium," saidJwala supported Prajakta Sawant, who dragged Gopichand to court, alleging that Gopichand was "mentally harassing" her by not allowing her to participate in the All India National Coaching Camp in Hyderabad. The Mumbai shuttler alleged that Gopichand was out to ruin her career by promoting only those players who train at his academy.Though a relative of Gopichand, Jwala never had good terms with him. She trains at LB Stadium here under former national chief coach Syed Mohammed Arif. "Arif sir also had an opportunity to start an academy but he was never interested in turning badminton into commercial activity."Jwala said the boys and girls from even middle class families were not in a position to afford playing badminton. Magadheera Ram Charan Teja's Nayak audio, which was scheduled to be released on December 14, got postponed to December 16. The sources close to film unit revealed this to Andhra Wishesh this evening. As per the sources, the film unit is most likely to announce the audio release date on Saturday wherein the unit would also tell the venue of the audio release.

It has to be mentioned here that Nayak audio release has gained so much of prominence in the wake of the buzz that mega brothers would come together on one stage after a long time. If buzz has to be believed, then it would be one of the biggest treats to mega fans. Nayak has Chiranjeevi's only son Ram Charan Teja as the male lead. This movie happens to be Ram Charan's fourth film to be released and also first film in a dual role. If we look at the history, legendary actor Chiranjeevi's fourth movie was his first movie in dual role (Nakili Manishi). Anyway, it's good that Ram Charan is following the foot steps of his father, who is like God to scores of people in Andhra Pradesh.

Director : Nani Krishna

Producer : Kiran Jakkam Shetty , Nani Krishna

Music Director : Chakri

Cast : Srikanth, Meenakshi Dikshit, Vidisha, Jayaprakash Reddy,Sivaji Raja and others

Rating 2.0/5.0

Story

Dorababu( Srikanth), Amalapuram playboy tires to woo Swapna(Vidisha) just like he did for others. However he has change of mind when his grand mother blasts him after knowing his evil instincts. Swapa (Vidisha) however fall in love with him after watching him undergo change which is not appreciated by her Grand Father (Ranganath) who happens to be a teacher. In the mean time Peddayya(Jayaprakash Reddy) and his brother tries to demolish old hidden temple for his cement factory.

Archaelogist(Sivaji Raja) tries to find out the connection between the temple and Sri Krishna Devaraya,by entering the village. Suddenly Dorababu starts behaving in a odd manner and tries to obstruct his evil designs. What is the connection between Dorababu and Royal King Srikrishna Devaraya has to be found on silver screen.

Performance

Srikanth's role as Dorababu has nothing much to offer while in Sri Krishna Devaraya he used the mannerisms to NTR and Balakrishna to the core. He reminds all of Balakrishna in Aditya 369. Both heroines Vidisha and Meenakshi Dixit did not get much scope for performance.

Vidisha looked hot, while Meenakshi sizzled in traditional dances during Devaraya sequence.  Balayya, Ranganath, Sivaji Raja, M.S. Narayana, Raghu Karumanchi and Jayaprakash Reddy completed the other cast.

Technicals

Production values are below standard. Chakri failed in giving good music and background score. Cinematography, eidting and everything failed collectively. Director's weak storyline and unconvincing screenplay showed his inexperience.

Analysis

Director Nani Krishna seemed to be lost as to where to begin and where to end. First half of the movie is substandard and doesn't appeal even to masses. Heroism is not highlighted in any manner and females willnot appreciate Srikanth's characterisation of Dorababu. Love track is not established properly and even the connection between Dorababu and Devaraya is not convincing.

Srikanth's dances are below average. However he looked royal as Srikrishna Devaraya. Director tried mixing chandramuki, damarukam and many other films and successfully failed even in copying them.Climax insults the intelligence of movie lovers.

Final Talk

Devaraya turns disastrous for Srikanth.

Sarocharu has five songs - Two duets, one mass number and two peppy tracks. Venu, Ranina Reddy, Javed Ali, Rita, Sagar, Sunitha, Khushi Murali, Swetha Mohan, Chinna Ponnu and Devi Sri Prasad have given their voice for them.
Devi Sri Prasad has delivered a decent music album for Sarocharu, which has some of the typical Ravi Teja songs. Two tracks like 'Jaga Jaga Jagadeka Veera' and 'Gusa Gusa' are very melodious to listen. This album is surely going to impress the listeners and will do good business in the market.
However, Sarocharu is a romantic entertainer, which is directed by Parasuram and produced by Ashwini Dutt's daughter Priyanka Dutt. Ravi Teja, Kajal Aggarwal and Richa Gangopadhyay are playing the lead roles in this movie, which is slated to hit the screens on December 21.

When a survey revealed that 60% woman love to get beaten by their husband, everyone got shocked. But our filmmakers are not getting shocked and they are incorporating in films it seems.

These days it has become a norm for our heroes to slap their sensuous heroines. Mahesh slapped Samantha in Dookudu, Raviteja slapped Deeksha Seth for Nippu, and Tamanna too got spanked on her rose cheeks a couple of times. Right now, Kajal became hot topic for taking a strong slap from Raviteja in the upcoming 'Sarocharu'. Earlier she took same kind of offer from Jr NTR in 'Brindavanam'. Is this a sentiment or something to give a dominating colour to our heroes? Woman activists are saying that these kinds of slaps might send negative vibes to audiences and will encourage young lovers to hit their ladies. Hope this will not become a controversy.

On the other hand, Kajal is once again doing a lively character for 'Sarocharu'. We have seen how she sizzled in such roles earlier in 'Darling' and 'Arya 2' and we have to see if she could gleam a ray of hope on Raviteja's flop streak.

New Delhi, Dec 5: India was ranked 94 out of 176 countries surveyed in the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) 2012, with a score of 36 on a scale from 0 (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean), the Transparency International India (TII) said Wednesday.

Last year India ranked 95 out of 183 countries. However, due to an update in the methodology, CPI scores of 2011 cannot be compared with this years' score, S.K. Agarwal, vice-chairman of TII told. He added that India had the same score of 36 in 2011 as well.

"The 2012 index ranks countries by their perceived levels of public sector corruption and assigns scores of between one (highly corrupt) and 100 (clean). Ten independent data sources specialising in governance and business climate analysis have been used," Agarwal added.

While Somalia, North Korea and Afghanistan were the most corrupt countries with a score of eight, Denmark, Finland and New Zealand tied for the first place of the least corrupt with a score of 90.

China had a CPI score of 39, which is better than India, while Pakistan's was 27.

CPI scores and ranks countries based on how corrupt a country's public sector is perceived to be. It is a combination of surveys and assessments of corruption collected by a variety of reputable institutions.

Hyderabad, Dec 5: "One of the most horrible features of politics is that all the political-propaganda, all the screaming and lies and hatred, comes invariably from people who are not committed to the objective cause."

Showing obeisance to impatience of Telangana MPs, the Centre on Wednesday decided to convene an all-party meeting on Telangana after the conclusion of the winter session of the Parliament on December 28. It appears that hectic confabulations by KCR brought the Congress around. Thus, the decision to call for the all-party meet could be a counter-move to KCR’s designs of encouraging defections of Telangana Congress MPs into TRS.

With the above decision, the Congress wily leadership somehow managed to appease the restive T-Congress MPs for time being and in fact extended the December 9 deadline set by T-congress MPs to decide their future course of action for 23 more days and in the process the Congress think-tank, as its wont, once again demonstrated its mark of intelligence.

In doing so, the Congress high-command has rekindled the Telangana issue, notwithstanding the move was to save its skin in the light of voting on the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the retail segment in Parliament.

The Telangana Congress MPs, who were crestfallen until Tuesday with the party high command could-shouldering their demand, suddenly became excited and began to hail the decision as historic moment and tried to claim credit forgetting that their own leadership led by Ghulam Nabi Azad not very long time back uttered that an all-party meet was not required to take a decision on Telangana. They are acting like real life Gajnis forgetting that their own party itself is undecided on Telangana so far.

It is conveniently being forgotten by the now exuberant T-Congress MPs that there was no need to convene an all-party meet if the Congress decides to concede Telangana. Then who are they trying to convince by hailing the decision a historic moment.

Telangana Congress MPs, TRS leaders and their puppets in JACs always give a convenient slip to one pertinent issue. They ask the other parties like the Telugu Desam Party and the YSR Congress to spell out their point of view on the separate Statehood issue while comfortably forgetting their own failures to exert pressure on the Union Government and the Congress party to spell its stand. They have been riding on this false premise for too long and have been living in fantasy world that the people can be rallied around these false accusations against the TDP and YSRCP being the main hurdles of Telangana statehood in their eternity.

The Congress and TRS, which have been trying to pass the buck onto others always, may not be able to do so this time. Before asking the TDP and the YSR Congress to come up with their stand, the ruling Congress will have to take a stand and pronounce the same. If the Congress asserts that it is in favour of the separate State, the other two parties too can easily make their policies public. In such an event, it will be a real politic that decides their fate.

The Congress MPs, who have been demanding that only one representative should go to Shinde’s meeting to express their respective parties’ point of view, also must ensure that their party does the same first. Will the Lagadapatis, Kavuris, Rayapatis and Gades of the world accept a decision in favor of a separate Telangana? Would there be no possibility of some more regional parties sprouting in the wake of any decision — be it for or against Telangana separation?

If both the TDP and YSRCP declare that they are fully in favor of Telangana separation, but completely against the politics of KCR, TRS, Kodandaram and Telangana Congress MPs, what would be the tactics of TRS and the Congress in the region? How would they counter such a strategy of TDP and YRCP?

Having said the above, it is yet to be seen whether the Congress is trying to wriggle out of the current crisis on FDI by calling for an all-party meeting on Telangana. Once the Government crosses this bridge, it may not evince as much an interest as it did on Wednesday on the Telangana issue. Also, Seemaandhra MPs, who are more in number in the Congress, too can arm-twist the party.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) leadership is looking at encouraging defection of the elected representatives of the ruling Congress in the region. At the backdrop of such moves by KCR, Congress needs to find ways to check KCR’s designs by somehow placating the ever restive T-MPs.

Though the T-MPs supported the government by voting in favour of the FDI on Wednesday, all eyes are focused on them on their future course of action after Tuesday night’s developments in which they closeted with KCR. Congress high-command is unlikely to take these tantrums of its MPs to embarrass it frequently and in times of crisis.

Now that the government survived the FDI crisis, what will happen to their fututre? Will Congress president Sonia Gandhi allow them to continue their tantrums? The Congress president may take a very serious view in keeping them under check in the days to come if the government manages to get through the FDI crisis.

The tantrums of KCR would anyhow be taken with a pinch of salt, for even after the Congress managed to overcome the present crisis for it is the Congress high command which would take a decision on what it should with the all-party meet and with its MPs and KCR would have no role in such delicate and crucial issues than keep luring the restless Congress MPs with his mind games.

The Telangana continues to be a thing of intrigue in its eternity, thanks to the machinations of all those political parties involved in the game Telangana and its politics has turned decadent, the political language became decadent, too.

'Struggling phase' is not new to Raviteja as he had to struggle so hard to be recognized as a hero by our Telugu film industry. Raviteja never looked back after he has attained stardom with Idiot, ANOTA etc. However, like every hero he too has hit a slump after Mirapakaya. From then on he has delivered five flops in a hero.

These many flops for any hero is a big number and for a hero with 'minimum guarantee' tag it is tad too much. Poor choice of scripts and believing blindly in directors with a good track record has resulted in this slump and this doesn't mean that Raviteja's game is over. He is all set to hit back with vengeance with Sarocharu.

This film is directed by Parasuram and is carrying a very good talk among the film circles. Raviteja usually releases his films for Pongal and opens the year with a success. This time he is going to sign off this year with a hit if the reports are to be believed. A hero like Raviteja should be in business all the time as he is pretty consistent and also a busy bee.

New Delhi, Dec 5: The Manmohan Singh-led government saved itself some possible embarrassment Wednesday when it comfortably won the vote in the Lok Sabha on foreign investment in multi-brand retail that is seen as important step in its reform process. It also won another motion on amendments to the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) to facilitate its initiative.

Both the motions had been moved by the opposition. The first, main, motion on the government's decision to allow 51 percent foreign direct investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail that would allow global supermarket chains to set up shop in India was moved by the BJP and the CPI-M. The second one opposing amendments to FEMA was moved by the Trinamool Congress.

With the rival Uttar Pradesh parties, Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), which prop the ruling UPA from outside, strategically walking out of the house before the vote, the government sailed through the challenges.

The halfway mark needed to win the votes was reduced with the SP's 22 MPs and the BSP's 21 abstaining. Propelled by the unlikely Mulayam Singh Yadav-Mayawati combination, the government won the FDI motion with a 35 vote margin 218 votes for the opposition motion, 253 against in a house with 471 members.

The FEMA motion was won by 30 votes in a house with 478 members, the opposition got 224 votes and the government 254.

"We are very happy. We have the support of the house," said a beaming Communications Minister Kapil Sibal while lauding the country's "vibrant democracy".

A defeated Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj slammed Mulayam Singh for walking out of the house and condemned the UPA's "arrogance of power".

The SP, which had said earlier in the morning that it was against FDI but would not do anything to "trouble the government", said the move was "anti-farmer".

"Five crore (50 million) people in retail trade will be destroyed. This decision has ignored the interests of 20 crore (200 million) farmers and their families. The decision on FDI was taken under pressure of foreign companies. This is the reason the party boycotted it," Mulayam Singh said.

"This is not about helping or harming the government. The whole party and MPs had decided to stage a walkout. This was decided by the party and the SP will continue to oppose every wrong decision of the government," he said

The decision to allow FDI in multi-brand retail is expected to open the doors for major global names such as Wal-Mart, Carrefour and Tesco.

The vote is expected in the Rajya Sabha, upper house, Friday where the government does not have the numbers.

Oslo, Dec 4: Indian couple Vallabhaneni Chandrasekhar and Anupama were sentenced by the district court here for roughing up their son. While Chandrasekhar was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment, his wife Anupama was sentenced to 15 months.

The court has permitted the couple to appeal against the judgment in the high court.

Chandrasekhar, an employee of Tata Consultancy Services has gone on deputation to Norway along with his wife and two sons.

They have admitted the children in a local school as the deputation was for 18 months. Elder son Sai Sri Ram (7) is mischievous and used to cause trouble to the parents. They reportedly chided the boy for wetting his pants. They even threatened to send him back to India. The boy has complained about his parents to his teachers who in turn complained to the child welfare department. Authorities of the department have taken the boy away and conducted various tests on him to know the intensity of the ill-treatment his parents have meted out to him. After a month, the boy was sent back to the parents after due counseling.

The authorities have apparently booked a case then and the couple was not however informed about it then. The couple came back to India with their children. Chandrasekhar was asked to go back to Oslo on another assignment recently. Unaware that a case was already registered against them, Chandrasekhar went there again along with his wife, leaving the children behind. Police have arrested both on December 23, for harassment of their son. Prosecutors have even recommended the punishment. On a request from the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, the union minister Vayilar Ravi has contacted the Indian Embassy in Oslo and enquired the possibility of getting the couple released. However after being told that the India could not interfere in the laws of Norway, the central government has expressed its inability to intervene.

Parents shocked

Back in Hyderabad, The parents of V. Chandrasekhar and his wife Anupama, broke down on hearing the news of their conviction. A family member said they were shocked.

They termed the verdict "one-sided" as the court did not take into account the issues raised by the couple, including the report sent by a psychiatrist from here.

"There was no response to our concerns. We came to know that the court did not take into account the points raised by our lawyer. This is not a digestible situation," Chandrasekhar's nephew V. Sailendra told reporters at their residence in Miyapur here.

"We have the option of appealing in a higher court and we will exercise that option," he added. The couple's children -- seven-year-old Sai Sriram and his two-year-old younger brother -- are living with their grandparents at Miyapur.

"Our biggest worry is how to handle the children because they are inquiring about their parents. They want to know because newspapers and television channels are carrying their pictures," said another family member.

Sailendra said both the children were depressed and they were sending regular reports to the Oslo police about their health condition.

"What kind of justice is this? This verdict has separated the children from their parents. The children can't live without them. The two-year-old is very attached to them and he needs their care," he said.

The family alleged that the authorities in Norway have blown the issue out of proportion when Sriram had told his school teacher that the parents chided him for bed-wetting.

Psychiatrist Kalyan Chakravarthi, in his report sent to Oslo court, said he had several sessions of counseling with the boy.

According to him, Sriram is 'mild to moderate' case of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (APHD) and was showing positive signs till the situation turned awry with the arrest of his parents.

The family members are also unhappy with the Indian government for not doing anything to help the couple. External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid ruled out any intervention, saying the issue relates to a private citizen and to the local law of that country.

The couple was arrested by police in Oslo last week on charges of "gross or repeated maltreatment" of their child.

Justifying their arrest, the Oslo police have termed the case as "very serious". A police officer has been quoted as saying that the boy bore burn marks and scars on his body and that he was beaten with belt.

The couple's lawyer denied that they hurt the boy but said they had some difficulties in handling him. The family members said the boy had sustained some accidental injuries while playing.

The arrest was made nine months after Sriram complained to his school teachers that his parents were threatening to send him back to India for wetting his pants.

Originally hailing from Krishna district in coastal Andhra, Chandrasekhar with his family returned home in July this year. Chandrasekhar again left for Norway on Nov 23 for work. This time he went only with his wife leaving behind both his sons.

The family members said the couple had gone to Norway in response to the summons issued by the Oslo court. "They wanted to close the case and clear their name before returning to India. They did not expect things to take this ugly turn," said a family member.

Hyderabad, Dec 3: A court in Norway has postponed to Tuesday sentencing an Indian couple facing criminal charges of maltreatment of their child, heightening the anxiety among their family members here.

The exact reasons for the court in Oslo postponing the sentence were not known but the family hopes that justice would be done.

According to reports reaching here, the court heard the counsel of V. Chandrasekhar, an employee of Tata Consultancy Service (TCS) on deputation to Oslo, and his wine Anupama.

The counsel highlighted the holes in the prosecution case by informing the court that the child welfare department had taken the custody of the child for a month and returned him to his parents after they promised to follow their suggestions.

"We are expecting that justice will be done," Chandrasekhar's nephew V. Sailendra told reporters here Monday.

The seven-year-old Sai Sriram and his younger brother are living with their grandparents at Miyapur here.

According to Sailendra, the children were worried and inquiring about their parents.

"They used to chat regularly their parents over net and with none of them coming on line, they inquiring about them. They are also worried after seeing the media coverage of their parents," said Sailendra.

The family members have once again appealed to the Indian government to intervene and seek their release. Member of Parliament from Machilipatnam K. Narayana Rao also sought the intervention of the government.

"Reprimanding the children by the parents is common in India as they do it for their good. How can they be punished for this," asked the MP.

External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid has already ruled out any intervention in the matter. "This is an issue that relates not to the government. It relates to a private citizen and to the local law of that country," he said.

Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, however, Monday said India can diplomatically do something in the case.

The couple was arrested by police in Oslo last week on charges of "gross or repeated maltreatment" of their child.

Justifying their arrest, the Oslo police have termed the case as "very serious". A police officer has been quoted as saying that the boy bore burn marks and scars on his body.

He also said prosecution has proposed a sentence of 15 months for the mother and 18 months for the father in the case.

The couple's lawyer denied that they hurt the boy but said they had some difficulties in handling him.

New Delhi, Dec 1: Central government has expressed its helplessness in securing the release of Hyderabad couple Chandrasekhar and Anupama who were arrested in Norway for roughing up their son.

On the directions of the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy, minister Sridhar Babu has spoken to the union minister Vayilar Ravi and requested him to intervene and secure the release of the couple. After contacting the Indian embassy, which in turn contacted the Norwegian authorities, Ravi has said Indian government could not interfere in the law enforcement of that country.

It is learnt that the couple had been harsh towards their son on several occasions. Oslo police have already registered cases against the two. Prosecuting authorities have recommended three months sentence to the mother and 18 months to the father. Decision in the case is likely on December 3.

Chandrasekhar and his wife Anupama were arrested by Norway police for behaving harshly with their son, for wetting his pants. They are also alleged to have threatened to send him back to India.

Chandrasekhar is an employee of the TCS. The incident occurred 9 months ago when he went to Oslo on an earlier deputation, with wife and children. Their son has complained about the harsh treatment to his teachers, who in turn informed the authorities. However, the family came back unmindful of the case being made out against them. On the second occasion when the couple went to Oslo, leaving the children behind, police have arrested them – nine months after the incident.

Hyderabad, Dec 2: Government Whip in the Assembly and Sangareddy MLA Toorpu Jayaprakash Reddy alias Jagga Reddy made a sensational statement today. He said that he would address a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and high command requesting them not to concede separate Telangana State.

Speaking to the media here on Sunday, Jagga Reddy said that he does not see any benefit with creation of separate Telangana State and he would convey his opinion to Sonia Gandhi soon. He said that he would go to New Delhi and meet the party high command and tell them about his opinion. He said that he would ask the party high command to provide a special package to the region instead of bifurcation of the State. However, he said that he would not object any decision taken by the high command. “I will not change my stand even if the high command created separate Telangana State”, he added.

He opined that communal parties would be strengthened further if separate Telangana State was created. He said that he has evidence to prove that separate Telangana State was not necessary.

Reacting to Jagga Reddy’s remarks, several Telangana Congress leaders condemned his stand saying that he should keep his opinion with himself and not make it public. They expressed fears that the Telangana leaders would be at receiving end in the coming general elections along with Jagga Reddy. Making it clear that they totally disapprove Jagga Reddy’s statement, the Telangana Congress leaders pointed out that Jagga Reddy was a habitual defector. He had joined the TRS after leaving the BJP and later joined the ruling Congress for greener pastures; but they (Congress leaders) remained in the Congress from the beginning of their political career.

Banner: First Frame Entertainments

Producer: Sai Babu Jagarlamudi, Y Rajeev Reddy

Director: Krish

Music: Mani Sharma

Casting: Rana, Nayanatara, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Posani Krishna Murali, Milind Gunaji,Brahmanandam and Others

Rating: 2.25/5.0

Story

Rana Daggupati who earned acclaim with his debut film ‘Leader' is still searching for hit after his films ‘Nenu Naa Raakshasi' and ‘Naa Ishtam' bombed at box office. Rana chose the successful director Krish who not only give entertainment, but also sends sublime message through his films. Krish created lot of buzz with the title and made this as bi lingual in Telugu and Tamil. The film released all over the world in record number of theaters.

Babu (Rana) is an artist in Surabhi Theater formed by his grandfather Subhramanyam (Kota). Babu wanted to leave the profession and go to US for higher studies as the theater artists' future is bleak. But, Subhramanyam requests his grandson to perform one last show in his native Bellary and dies. Babu decides to fulfill his grandfather last wish before he leaves for US.

Babu and his troop goes to Beallary to give show where he bumps into journalist Devika (Nayanatara) who is making a documentary on Reddappa ( Milind Gunaji), a mining mafia don. A small tussle between Reddappa henchman Syda and Babu leads into a rivalry between them. When Babu tries to dig deep into Reddappa background with the help of Devika, Babu comes to know some stunning facts about his parent's death.

Who is behind Babu parents death and how Babu freed the locals from mining mafia don forms the crux of the story.

Performance

Rana showed ease in the acting compared to his previous movies. His physique best suited for the action scenes, but need to improve a lot in dances.

Nayantara role is not promising and didn’t etch well. Milind Ganaji best suited for the role as antagonist. Kota Srinivasa Rao is brief. Murali Sharma is wasted. Ravi Prakash appears in a less prominent role.

Brahmanandam, Raghu Babu and Rajesh tried their best to evoke laughs. Posani entertained the audience with his typical mannerism and dialogue delivery.

Two items songs by Sameera Reddy and Hazel Keech are not impressive and big speed breakers in the movie. Venkatesh appears in the fag end of the item song with Sameera.

Technical

Director Krish who is best known for his screenplay ran out of ideas in second half. The first half is promising with director connecting all the characters well with the social problem. But, second half is big letdown with ordinary screenplay. Director didn’t etch the characters well.

Music is average, but background score is very good .Cinematography is good. Action scenes are commendable. The plus point for the film is dialogues. They are entertaining yet thought provoking. There are few scenes which can be easily avoided.

Analysis

Krish who gives entertainment with an undercurrent message failed miserably in the movie. The movie takes of well protagonist appears like taking on social issue, but director deviated the subject and concentrated on revenge drama. The whole second half is nothing but a revenge drama with loose screenplay and predictable climax.

On the whole, ‘Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum’ chances at the box office are bleak. This movie will become another flop in Rana’s list.

London, Nov 29: The legend of "Bigfoot" is not only real, but the creature is a direct relative of man and had sex with human females 15,000 years ago, says a new study that used so-called real DNA samples.

Texan veterinarian-researcher Melba S. Ketchum and her firm DNA Diagnostics worked for five years, and concluded that the mythic Bigfoot is indeed a human hybrid that descended from human women who mated with men of "an unknown hominin species", the Daily Mail reported.

However, Ketchum has presented no evidence yet for her findings, nor has she had her work reviewed by peers, the daily said.

Ketchum said mitochondrial DNA in the samples, which she apparently obtained from leftover blueberry bagels eaten by a family of 10 bigfoots who lived in Michigan, show clear evidence of genetic mixing.

Scientists have demanded that Ketchum present her evidence but she has so far declined to make anything public.

If her study is proven, it would suggest two options for scientists -- one that Bigfoot did have sex with ancient human women 15,000 years ago, and created a half-human hybrid species which is currently hiding in North America, and another is that the samples are contaminated.

Ketchum said the US government should immediately recognise Bigfoot as "an indigenous people and immediately protect their human and Constitutional rights".
