Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming gangster flick Kabali is nearing its shooting part and the entire shooting will be wrapped up by the 1st of April. The film’s post-production is going on at a brisk pace simultaneously. As per the latest reports, Kabali will be a memorable treat for fans as it will bring back the vintage Rajinikanth.

Rajini’s trademark gait, style and gestures, fiery looks and his typical dialogue delivery and single take performances in intense scenes have well enhanced his characterization, according to the reports. Apparently, scenes featuring Kabali’s rise as a mafia don and Rajini’s style quotient will be the major highlights in the film.

Being directed by PA Ranjith, Kabali is produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. The film, also starring Radhika Apte, will hit the screens in May

According to the latest buzz being heard, young hero Nara Rohit may be teaming up with Puri Jagan for a new action entertainer. Both Puri and Rohit are interested in working with each other and this movie may start after Puri completes Kalyan Ram’s cinema.

Representatives from both sides recently met and thrashed the formalities out. Now a script needs to be locked and a production house has already entered the fray. Rohit is expected to change his look for this movie.

Other details regarding the project are awaited.

The job of Actors & Technicians is never going to be easy as they have to shoot at extreme temperatures depending on the requirement. Look at the way Kajal grooves when the temperature is at a freezing point. It may look so good to watch, but those shooting in such places will have to face several hardships. What do you say?

In "Oopiri", she doesn't have any substantial role, nor she won any great praise. But she reportedly believes that her new popularity would help the producers to sell the movie for good price.

Arvind Swamy is the actor who is making a big impression in Kollywood at the moment was one of the most sought after actors in the 90s.

He is not very well known in Bollywood and has done only two films in Hindi, Saat Rang Ke Sapne and Raja Ko Rani Se Pyaar Ho Gaya. Now, he is back in B-town again with the first look of his upcoming film Dear Dad.

Dear Dad stars Arvind Swamy and Himanshu Sharma. The first look is very natural and interesting.

Arvind looks absolutely handsome in a simple polo shirt and jeans. Looks like he has really shed some weight since his last film and is looking very fit.

He made a really tremendous re-entry in cinema with Thani Oruvan, where his portrayal of the villainous Siddharth Abhimanyu was highly praised by everyone.

Nara Rohith has been coming up with films one after another within a short gap. Still his movies are much looked forward to as he is known to come up with different scripts.

When "Savitri" was announced it had raised curiosity for its title and also director Pavan Sadineni had shown promise with "Prema Ishq Kadhal". So does this movie live up to curiosity it had raised? Let's find out...

Story
Savitri (Nanditha) is mad about weddings. She wants get married to anybody as she is dying to see her own marriage ceremony. When her elder sister gets married, her father (Murali) and uncle (Ajay) start searching for an alliance. And they come to know that a doctor is good match for her and ask him to see his daughter. On the happy mood, Savitri heads to Shirdi by train from Vishakapatnam.

On the train she meets a guy Rishi (Nara Rohit) who is a doctor and he falls in love with her immediately. She doesn't encourage his love tease but has soft corner for him. When he proposes her seriously, she rejects him and heads to her home. Then the drama moves to her home.

Artistes’ Performances:
Nara Rohith has got the role of playing a lover boy which doesn't suit his body language. So, he has seemed so uncomfortable in it although he has done good job in the action episodes and other scenes. But it is the time he needs to shed his weight.

Nanditha has suited well to the role of Savitri. Murali has played a similar role has done in "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy". Ajay is good. 

Dhanya Balakrishna is okay in a brief role. Vennela Kishore provides some laugh. Prabhas Seenu, Satyam Rajesh, Ravi Babu and other actors are just okay. 

Technical Excellence:
The film is shot mostly in sets except the train episode. So it has some good production quality. Visuals are ordinary. Music is bland. Editing is totally bad. Dialogues written by Krishna Chaitanya doesn't suit to the story. Even when the scene is so clichéd and lacks depth, the dialogues sounded with heavy words.

Analysis
Nara Rohith has won good name for picking up unusual scripts in the initial stage of career. With films like "Baanam", "Prathinidhi", "Rowdy Fellow", Nara Rohith has become darling for new age directors and an image was created that his films can be watched for its hatke nature. Sadly, Nara Rohith too has joined the bandwagon of masala movies.

After "Tuntari", this "Savitri" is another example of his bad selection of stories. 

The film starts off well. How heroine gets infatuated with weddings as she is born in pelli mandapam is established nicely. The trouble begins there after, when she hikes a train to go to Shirdi. From then till the interval, the drama runs on this train journey to Shirdi with silly jokes, logic-less scenes, many fights. One and half hour goes with this drama. Big bore is this sequences.

The episode of Posani Krishna Murali as Lord Krishna is completely nonsense and it doesn't make any sense.

After the interval, the drama shifts to heroine's village near Vishakapatnam. Although the scenes between heroine's father (played by Murali) and hero are quite interesting, even then the story doesn't move swiftly.

A flash back story about Ravi Babu is not convincing and this drama doesn't add much to the main plot. 

The episode of Nara Rohith entering into Nanditha's house in the midnight, the following comedy is also quite boring as it is stretched beyond a point. 

Apart from some sequences before the climax, even the second half doesn't interest much.

Director Pavan Sadineni who has made a contemporary love story with "Prema Ishq Kadhal" has narrated this story in beaten to death way. His clichéd story and old-style presentation both have failed him.

All in all, 'Savitri' fails to impress in any way. 

Bottom-line: Routine Drama

Horror thrillers are the need of the hour in Tollywood. Every week, you see at least one film in this genre hit the screens. Mostly, it is low budget films who attempt this genre more often.

But off late, things have changed drastically as star heroines have chosen this genre and are set to enthral everyone. Some hardcore commercial heroines like Trisha, Tamannah and Regina will be seen in horror dramas for their upcoming films.

Trisha will be seen as Nayaki where as Tamannah and Regina will be seen in two different untitled horror thrillers which are currently on floors. These actresses feel that there is a huge scope for them to perform in these flicks and can reinvent themselves big time.

With the changing times and new stories being applauded, looks like star heroines have made the right move to cash in on this trend.

Kajal, one of the leading actresses down south, has two of the biggest films of her career releasing within a span of one month. While her next film Sardaar Gabbar Singh is slated for its release on April 8, the high budget family entertainer Brahmotsavam will hit the screens in May.

Incidentally, Kajal will be seen in two totally contrasting roles in both these films. While she plays a graceful princess in Sardaar, Kajal will turn trendy and chic for Brahmotsavam, in which she is playing an NRI girl from Australia.

No doubt that Kajal’s fans will have a treat watching her in two varied roles this summer.

Relishing the accolades that are pouring in for bagging the prestigious national award for his last directorial, Kanche, passionate director Krish is currently giving the finishing touches to his script for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s most awaited 100th film.

Tentatively titled Yodhudu, this film is expected to be launched on the occasion of Ugadi on April 8 in Amaravati. While everyone is curious about the cast and crew members of this project, Krish vaguely revealed the music composer for the film.

Hotshot music composer Devi Sri Prasad took to Twitter to congratulate Krish on Kanche’s national award. In his reply, Krish said, “thank you so much Devi… Can’t wait to work with you soon where we both together bag the awards n rewards ;)” Well, Krish’s tweet clearly suggests that the two talented minds will jam together for Balayya’s 100th.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President Dr. N. Raghuveera Reddy has accused the Telugu Desam Party Government and main opposition YSR Congress Party of failing to get Special Status for the State.

Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Raghuveera Reddy said while the TDP Government failed to make effective representation with the Centre on Special Status issue, the YSRCP has failed to raise the issue in a proper manner. He alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government was cheating the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The APCC chief also alleged that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has failed to fulfill the poll promises which include providing one job to every household in the State. He said thousands of people have lost their jobs since T

Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao has claimed that the Mission Kakatiya programme has been gaining recognition at the global level.

Speaking after launching the second phase of works under the Mission Kakatiya in Warangal on Thursday, Harish Rao said that the programme and concept was being received well by all sections across the globe. He said that the Mission Kakatiya works were giving good results and they have helped in improving the ground water tables. He informed that under the second phase 824 tanks and lakes in Warangal district would be restored at a cost of Rs. 313 crore. He said Warangal was on top in executing Mission Kakatiya works in the first phase. He hoped that the district would maintain its lead in the second phase.

Harish Rao said that the Irrigation Department would conduct week-long events on Mission Kakatiya in the month of April. He said on the advise of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, the restoration of lakes in urban areas was being taken up.

Supreme hero Sai Dharam Tej's 'Supreme' is one of the most promising films of this summer. The movie's audio release date has reportedly been confirmed as April 14 and the venue will be Shilpakala Vedika of Hyderabad. Apart from the film's cast and crew a few mega heroes are expected to attend to the audio event as guests and the details are yet to be known. 

'Supreme' will be releasing in the month of May. Rashi Khanna has played romantic interest of Sai Dharam Tej in the movie. Ravi Kishan and Sai Kumar will be seen in other crucial roles of the film. 

Anil Ravipudi, who is riding high on the super hit result of 'Pataas', has directed this movie. Dil Raju has produced the movie on Sri Venkateswara Creations. Sai Karthik has composed the music of the movie. Sai Dharam Tej's latest offing 'Subramanyam for Sale' got a decent hit status at the box office. 'Supreme' is expected to be one of the big hits of this summer.

Junior Ntr and Mohan Lal is a powerful combination set for ‘Janatha Garage’ by director Koratala Siva. The film is progressing with awesome schedules and is set for August release. Although, we are informed on Ntr and Mohan Lal are participating in the present schedule but no where we have got their pictures out. Finally, here come the first visuals from the shooting spot as director Koratala Siva joins them.

With a strong content and power packed characterizations, Koratala is making ‘Janatha Garage’ as a special film for both the star heroes Fans. The original essence in ‘Kahaani’ film starring Vidya Balan wasn’t completely re-produced by director Sekhar Kammula when he dealt the same as ‘Anamika’ with Nayanathara as heroine. This time, ‘Kahaani 2’ is already lying on sets in Sujay Ghosh direction with Vidya Balan again taking up central character. This sequel starts off exactly from same point where ‘Kahaani’ has ended.

Taking the credentials of ‘Kahaani’ being a super hit, makers aren’t compromising this time to go either for a remake or release the dubbed version to ‘Kahaani 2.’ According to reports from Bollywood circles, Viacom 18 is planning for a Telugu and Tamil version of ‘Kahaani’ to be shot in parallel with Hindi version. Release will also be commenced in parallel.

The most prestigious project, chiranjeevi 150^th film is going to be directed by V.V Vinayak and produced by Ram Charan and Lyca Productions. Actress Nayantara has been roped for this Mega project. Currently, Nayan is charging around 3 crores for a movie. But Nayantara charged 4 crores for Bikini in this project as it is very much hyped movie and makers said of Bikini scene in the movie. Nayan accepted including Bikini scene for 4 crores. But as per latest news Nayantara said no to Bikini scene in the movie.

Last night, when Aishwarya Rai Bachchan attended the L’Oreal Paris Women Of Worth awards, she was questioned about her father-in-law’s National Award win.

“It is not the first time (he is winning the national award). He deserved it. We are very very proud that Paa (Amitabh Bachchan) won the national award yet again for a performance he deserved,” Aishwarya Rai told reporters. “I feel every performance of him deserves to be celebrated by the audience and members of the media,” she added.

She further thanked all the fans for their congratulatory messages, “I thank you for all the love. Thank you for all the congratulatory messages. We love Paa and god bless him for entertaining us.”

As many as 14 small-budget films are being released this Friday, April 1. Film analysts say that the simultaneous release of 14 films on the same day is a new record in Tollywood.

Ram Gopal Varma directorial ‘Attack’ starring Manchu Manoj, Jagapathi Babu, Prakashraj and Vadde Naveen, is among the Friday’s releases.

The list of films that will hit the silver screen on April 1 also include ‘Pidugu’, ‘7 to 4’, ‘Appudala Ippudila’, ‘Aame Evaru’, ‘Bharathanna’, ‘O Malli’, ‘Rahadari’, ’24 Hours’, ‘Dhanadhan’, etc including several dubbed films like ‘Rajadi Raja’ starring Sharvanand ans Nithya Menon,’ Nannu vadili Neevu Polevule’, ‘Mass’ featuring Dhanush and Kajal.

It will be interesting to see which of these 14 films become successful.

K Raghavendra Rao's movies like 'Annmayya' deserve to win national awards. Undoubtedly,injustice was done to the films of all these directors.
