Music composer M M Keeravani who scored songs for more than 200 movies had announced his retirement plans much before the commencement of Rajamouli’s epic “Baahubali”.
I will retire on 8th December in 2016, he posted on his Facebook account announcing his retirement plans two years ago. But he has been signing new movies.
He is now working for K Raghavendra Rao and Nagarjuna’s devotional movie “Om Namo Venkateshaya” and Rajamouli’s epic “Baahubali 2”. Two more movies are said to be under the pipeline.
Although none of his movie albums in the recent past except “Baahubali” were impressive, he is still considered as one of the best musicians working in Tollywood. Since “Baahubali 2” and Raghavendra Rao’s movie release in 2017, he has reportedly changed his plan of retirement to the next year. There is also pressure from his fans and filmmakers to drop those plans too and continue composing the music.
He is hoping to win a national award for the background score for “Baahubali 2” as he is giving on bigger and better scale than the first part.
Salman Khan's 'Sultan' which was released recently opened to packed crowds. Due to Ramzan season, 'Sultan' had set the cash registers ringing on the first day. The film collected over 40 crores on the first day turning out to be the biggest hit in 2016 so far.
Now, the focus is shifted to Rajnikanth's 'Kabali'. Compared to Rajni's craze, it may not be a difficult task to surpass the 40 crore on first day. 'Kabali' will be releasing in 5000 screens on July 22ndaccording to the sources. But, Rajni had two disasters under his belt now. The success of 'Kabali' is much needed for him and if the film gets positive talk from the morning shows, then there would be no stopping to 'Kabali' and it may even cross the records of 'Baahubali'.
On the flipside, the confusion over the release date of 'Kabali' has not left. Though insiders say that it will be released on July 22nd, there is no official announcement from the production team yet. We need to wait for few more days to get the official announcement. -

Kangana Ranaut – The name needs no introduction. A-lister Kangana Ranaut has emerged over the years as one of the most sought-after actresses in Bollywood.
She is arguably the best actress in India at the moment.
Only a Kangana can pull off a character like Rani Mehra (Queen) and also look sultry hot like in the picture above.
The biggest advantage of being a successful writer first is you have a perfect idea on where to pitch the story, where to land it? More than story, Koratala Siva learnt many scripting lessons by working under star directors. All this experience is coming in very handy in his new innings as a director. The simple drawback or say the clever knack in Koratala is he caught Telugu audience mass pulse very firmly.
‘Mirchi’ hasn’t got any brand new story. It was the screenplay and treatment wherein presenting Prabhas in stylish best has done the magic. ‘Srimanthudu’ is also a tested storyline. However, the blending of commercial elements on Super Star like Mahesh Babu is real reason which landed the movie into an industry hit spot. As a writer, Koratala’s pen showed the sparks in both but his directorial abilities magnified more.
Coming to ‘Janatha Garage’ teaser released couple of days back Koratala is back to what he is a master at. There’s nothing great in teaser. Again, it’s the magnanimity in seeing Junior NTR and Mohan Lal together on screen for the first time left a deep impact. Dialogues from Tarak underlined the basic theme which appeared to be run-of-the-mill. The inference is transparent. The writer in Koratala is half active while the director in him is enchanting.
Comedian Shakalaka Shankar is now getting not many offers. Till few months ago, he was one of the busiest comedians and tried hard to adjust his call sheets. Now the bright days have run out for him. He is now seen occasionally, not in every release.
Shakalaka Shankar's rude behaviour with technicians and unit members has cost him dearly. The other major reason is that Pawan Kalyan beating him for his beahviour on the sets of "Sardaar Gabbar Singh". When Shakalaka Shankar belittled the movie's director and other unit members, Pawan bashed him up in front of everyone on the sets.
This news went like a wildfire and was widely reported by media. After this incident, the industry's producers and directors are reportedly not approaching him much. Only few are offering him the chances.
Although Pawan Kalyan forgot this incident, the industry is not forgetting.
85 years of Tollywood's history witnessed great master pieces of various Genres. The audience of current generation are badly missing the films of various Genres which offered abundant entertainment to the audiences of old generations. Check out the following Genres which are being missed by present day audience.
MYTHOLOGICAL FILMS: Hundreds of mythological films were made between 1930s and 70s. Mythologies have got no place for the past four decades. 1977's 'Danaveerasoorakarna' was the last big hit of Tollywood. Post DVS Karna, even NTR also could not get a mythological hit. The new generations showed not much interest on mythological entertainers.
HISTORICAL ENTERTAINERS: Comparing with other Genres, historical entertainers have less success ratio. Even then, Gunasekhar's 'Rudhramadevi' got above average result. 'Gauthamiputra Satakarni' is the only historical entertainer which is under production now.
FOLKLORE ENTERTAINERS: Folklore entertainers can broadly be divided into two types. They are political folklore films (Baahubali) and folklore films with magic and sorcery content in them. Scarcely, do we see second variety of films these days.
JAMES BOND (GOODHACHARI) FILMS: TFI has got interesting James Bond films like Goodhachari 116, Rahasya Goodhachari, James Bond 777, Goodhachari No.1 etc. Of late no James Bond films are being made.
COWBOY FILMS: Krishna's Mosagallaku Mosagadu was the best of all cowboy films of TFI. Megastar Chiranjeevi's 'Kodamasimham' was the last cowboy hit of TFI. Prince Mahesh' 'Takkari Donga' could not live upto the expectations. Gopichand's 'Saahasam' was well made and critically acclaimed.
DEVOTIONAL ENTERTAINERS: Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu got remarkable victories while Shirdi Sai film was not received well by audience. Nagarjuna is the only hero, who prefers devotional films. He essays Hathiram Baba in upcoming 'Om Namo Venkatesaya'.
K VISWANADH'S MARK OF TRADITIONAL DANCE AND MUSIC BASED FILMS:Unfortunately, Telugu filmmakers forgot this excellent genre of films.
JANDHYALA MARK OF COMEDIES: How about every character in a movie has a mannerism and signature style of expression or dialogue? Every Jandhyala's movie was made with actors having strange characters to generate laughs. Filmmakers, now, have no such great taste of making films.
BALACHANDER'S MARK OF TRAGEDIES: Sorry! no takers and no audience at the moment wish to watch such heavy subjects.
MOVIES WITH DOUBLE MEANING CONTENT: During 80s, a star hero used to act such movies. The movies consisted of provocative characters like 'Pulusu' to utter double meaning dialogues. No one wishes to make such B grade films and no audience wants to watch such films with family.
Leading English daily 'Times of India's article on TDP's corruption for Krishna Pushkaralu is embarrassing the people of AP. According to the newspaper's report, the TDP is intentionally delaying bidding for tenders for the works to be done in connection with pushkaralu.
The MPs and MLAs are allegedly delaying tenders to sanction the pushkara funds to their near and dear through nominations basis so that they would get their percentage from the funds allotted by the government.
It is being said that the government has allocated Rs.1080 crores of funds for Krishna Pushkaralu. However, due to the delay in inviting tenders, the budget may get doubled so that more corruption is done. As many as 3 ministers, 6 MLAs and an MP have been indulged inKrishna Pushkaralu scam, as per the report of the 'Times of India'.
Tamil director Muthaiah has scared the Telugu audiences with his recently dubbed film – Rayudu. It was a dubbed version of Tamil film Marudu starring Vishal as hero.
This dubbed Tamil film has almost terrified the Telugu audiences as it was too raw for them, though it appeared closer to reality. Marudhu might have appealed to the Tamil audience, but their Telugu counterparts did not relish the dubbed version for the simple reason that it had Tamil rural background and the artistes were completely new faces who had no connections with the Telugu film industry.
Now, Muthaiah is coming out with yet another film, this time with Suriya, who had a tremendous following in Telugu film industry.
Suriya is keen on doing the film with Muthaiah, soon after the completion of his ongoing projects. Ironically, this film, too, is based on the story with a Tamil rural background and Suriya is going to play a typical rural youth character.
This sounds similar to Rayudu for the Telugu audiences. It remains to be seen how they receive Muthaiah’s film with Suriya as hero.
Dharamsala: A man booked an entire show of a cinema hall for the screening of Salman Khan starrer "Sultan" to please his wife in Hamirpur city of Himachal Pradesh.
Shankar Musafir booked the show for his wife Geetanjali, who is a Salman Khan fan, in Gurkul mall a day before the movie's release.
"We thought Musafir, who got the booking confirmed from me, will come with 120 persons," Amit Thakur MD of the mall said.
"But we were surprised to find that he came only with his wife," he said.
Musafir married Geetanjali in April in 2015. (PTI)
The scene of late 90's will be repeated at Tollywood box-office again. In the 90's top four heroes - Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Nagarjuna and Venkatesh - used to compete with each other movies during festival time. Same scene will be happening during January 2017.
Megastar Chiranjeevi's "Katthilantodu" is all set to release on 12th January 2017. The movie's production team told GreatAndhra.com that there won't be any delay in the shoot schedules and it will hit the screens without fail for the Sankranthi. Although no heroine has been finalized yet, the production team confirms that entire shooting schedules will be completed by this December.
On the other hand, director Krish is working overtime to complete Balakrishna's 100th movie "Gauthamiputra Satakarni" by November end. Although this is huge graphical movie, the works of CG and editing are being done simultaneously with the shoot. So "Gauthamiputra Satakarni" is also confirmed for Jan 12, 2017 release.
The surprise addition to this Sankranthi race is Nagarjuna's movie "Om Namo Venkateshaya". This devotional film was recently launched by director K Raghavendra Rao and the veteran director is known for completing any movie within just four to five months. So Nagarjuna is particular to release the movie on Sankranthi festival.
Hence we will see the scenario of Balakrishna versus Chiranjeevi versus Nagarjuna in January 2017.
Everyone is currently appreciating "Memu Saitham" program being hosted by Lakshmi Manchu where they are sponsoring financial needs of various deserved and underprivileged people. Like those celebs who have taken part in the show by doing various laborious jobs, even Vishnu too joined.

Amidst reports that Samantha would tie the knot with her beau Naga Chaitanya this year probably around December, the bride-to-be has ruled out such speculations. Speaking on her marriage plan, Sam set the record straight by saying that she won't be entering wedlock even next year.
"I'll be single next year as well. No marriage (for me) (next year)," Samantha replied when a news person asked her about marriage plan.
Though Brahmotsavam turned out to be a dud, Samantha managed to cope up with A..Aa which set the cash registers ringing at the BO. As she is all set for her next Janatha Garage with NTR, Sam hasn't signed any films adding fuel to the speculations that she is taking a break.
Now that Sam stated openly, it needs to be seen whether it puts any stop to ongoing speculations on her wedding. On other hand, Chaitu too is tight-lipped on the buzzing topic. -

An interesting talk is doing rounds in Film Nagar at the moment about heroine of Megastar Chiranjeevi's comeback movie. For this mighty 150th flick, the search is one from a time but no heroine is finalised till date.
After the likes of Anushka and Nayantara's name considered, finally Megastar and his director VV Vinayak are said to be eyeing on Bollywood beauties. The names of Nargis Fhakri and Jacqueline Fernandez are being heard, and here is the shocker. Reports have that Jacqueline asked the makers a whopping 5 crores to start in her first Telugu movie.
Generally Tollywood stops paying more than 1.5 crores and sometimes 2 crores but not more than that for a heroine.

Energetic hero Ram failed to entertain with some run of the mill stories. He moved away from mass flicks and chose a complete love story 'Nenu Sailaja' which breathed life into Ram's career. With the success of 'Nenu Sailaja', Ram started experimenting and he will be seen as a blind guy in his upcoming film with Anil Ravipudi.
These days, young heroes started to choose commercial scripts with peculiar characters. Last year we saw Nani as a person who forgets everything in 'Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy'. Even Kollywood hero Vishal acted as a guy who falls asleep for any small emotion in 'Indrudu'. Apart from these, young heroes started accepting different concepts. We saw Nani in grey shades in 'Gentleman', VarunTej too dared to act in an unusual film like 'Kanche'.
Tollywood usually get criticized for its stereotypical films but young heroes are proving this wrong by attempting something new. A good step indeed in Tollywood. - See more at: http://www.gulte.com/movienews/50389/Young-Heroes-Trying-Different#sthash.ucA7eSq2.dpuf

Here's a rare and special photo moment of Power Star Pawan Kalyan captured by his close friend and producer Sharrat Marar at Pawan's farmhouse recently.
