Big butt is a healthy sign
London,
Nov 19: Men get heart attacks by watching shapely butts of women. Some
made a forward march in their careers with their backs turned to the
front. Socialite and US reality TV star Kim Kardashian is more famous by
her hind than anything else. Even actress Jennifer Lopez's hind is more
talked about, than her other exceptional talents.
Apart
form the sensation it might cause, a heavy posterior is a sign of good
health, a new research suggests. The extra padding on the backside and
thighs could even help to protect against disease.
Researchers
have conducted studies on health effects of fat stores in different
parts of human body, particularly around hips and thighs. Lead
researcher Konstantinos Manolopoulos of the University of Oxford,
England says that body's fat distribution was quite important for one's
health. His new article summarizes a body research showing that such hip
and thigh fat can help to reduce the risk of diabetes and heart
diseases. In an article researchers of Harvard published the results of
their study in the scientific journal 'Cell Metabolism', they said
popular pear shape producing a large derriere in women may actually be
protecting them against Type 2 diabetes because their bodies make better
use of Insulin. Researcher Dr. Ronald Kahn said he was surprised to
learn the fat in the rear was healthy. He said, “I think it points to a
special aspect of fat where we need to do more research.”
Dr. Kahn thinks that this was great and could lead to finding another drug that might help develop a big hind.
