Bangaluru,
Jan 17: The Bangaluru police unraveled the mystery enveloping the
murder of beautiful Kannada actress Hemasri who made a name for herself
in the Telugu households with the characters she portrayed in serials.
After
prolonged interrogation, the actress’ husband Surendra Babu admitted
that he killed her. But he is claiming that it was an accident and not
an intentional murder.
Surendra Babu who is 20 years elder
to Hemasri married her without her consent. He helped her family in
their difficulties and the family was forced to accept the marriage as
he took a fancy for her.
According to the confessional
statement of Surendra Babu, though Hemasri married him, she never
allowed him to have conjugal pleasure. It was in this background he said
he has decided to have physical pleasure by drugging her.
When
Hemasri was leaving for Hyderabad for taking part in some shootings, he
accompanied her. He purchased chloroform with an intention to drug her
if necessary, to enjoy pleasure. The couple spent five days in Hyderabad
where she attended shootings. On their way back he proposed to halt at
his friend Murali’s guesthouse in Anantapur and enjoy her company by
drugging her. However, he told the police she picked up a quarrel with
him on the way back and he had to use chloroform to silence her. He
claimed that he might have given an overdose of the drug inadvertently.
She was unconscious when they reached Anantapur. Afraid as he was, he
called her mother to Anantapur. After she came, the two of them shifted
Hemasri into a car and started for Bangaluru. On the way they stopped at
a hospital where they got her examined. But doctors told them that she
was dead. He claims he had not murdered her intentionally.
