Looks like the bad times for overseas distributors will continuing to haunt them this summer. After a decent start to their summer season with Oopiri, the US buyers have been pegged down by a series of high profile disasters such as Sardaar Gabbar Singh and Sarrainodu, which made losses to the tune of more than $1 million each.
And now, Mahesh Babu's Brahmotsavam seems be giving sleepless nights to the overseas buyers as the film is struggling at the ticket windows. With nearly $2.7 millions stake, Brahmotsavam has so far collected close to $1.1 million, leaving slightly more than half the investment yet to be recovered.
Even though Mahesh's overseas stamina is pulling the crowds in decent numbers, the film has to perform exceedingly well to bail out its buyers. With Trivikram's A..Aa set for June 2 release, Brahmotsavam is staring at a stiff competition. On the other hand, US buyers are pinning all their hopes on the next summer biggies such as A..Aa and Kabali.
