After watching Brahmotsavam today, many might have got a thought that we are left with only few heroines like Samantha, Kajal, Tamanna in star league and it is really a high time for new heroines to take over their place.
Turning back a page or two, we can recall how pale and lean Samantha looked in Son of Satyamurthy and in recent 24. Kajal too lost her charm and no one can disagree with that if they watched her in Sardaar Gabbar Singh. Tamanna never really got anywhere near these two, though she had films like Baahubali and Oopiri, thanks to her overacting. Anushka went out of shape often, though her admirers want to justify the changes as a need for films like Size zero, Rudramadevi and Baahubali.
It is a fact that new heroines are not really able to reach the virtual benchmark set by these heroines and hence they were not being roped into star heroes films. Shruti Haasan and Rakul Preet have been giving some serious threats to seniors, but there is still a lot of space for new talented beauties. The ratio of heroes and successful heroines is not the same and repeated combinations are more like monotonous and deja vu.
Nitya menon is too selective and glamour roles is not what she usually prefers. Lavanya Tripathi, Raashi Khanna and Regina somehow look better with mid range heroes. After the set of heroines like Trisha, Shriya and Ileana, there are Samantha, Kajal, Tamanna and Anushka who took over without much gap. But, it is time for new faces to replace them too. -
