Oka Manasu Disappoints In Targeted Area

Oka Manasu was hugely hyped movie, before its theatrical outing. It marked film entry for mega princess Niharika Konidela. Rama Raju who won praises for his maiden venture Mallela Theeramlo Sirimalle Puvvu has helmed it, while top television channel TV9 has bankrolled the venture that made strong pre release business. The producers got Rs 4 crores profits through pre release business.

Oka Manasu was purely targeted at class audiences and makers thought the movie will do wonders in overseas where class films are largely honored. The movie botched to reach the high expectations and is performing below par in USA and few other territories. The romantic entertainer movie minted just $4,452 in USA on Sunday taking total to $36,283 (from 63 screens) for first weekend.

Oka Manasu collected around 1.43 cr of share for 3 days in Telugu states, out of which 69 lakhs is from Nizam area, which is almost half of the total share. In Ceded, the movie raked 20 lakhs in first weekend.

Oka Manasu collected 16 lakhs, 9 lakhs, 6 lakhs, 7 lakhs, 11 and 5 lakhs respectively from Vizag, East, West, Krishna, Guntur and Nellore zones. As per trade experts, it is going to be a huge loss maker for distributors who spent big amounts, thanks to the huge hype before its release. -
