Movie Artistes Association (MAA) on Sunday felicitated veteran actors Jamuna and Kaikala Satyanarayana. Both Jamuna and Satyanarayana heaped praises on MAA headed by Rajendra Prasad. Jamuna handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to MAA. She wants this amount to be used for the sake of Pension Scheme (Rs 1,000 per month for Poor Artistes).
Dasari Narayana Rao who attended Today's felicitation programme came own heavily on Governments for failing to honour legends like Savitri, Anjali Devi, SV Ranga Rao, Jamuna and Satyanarayana with Padma Awards. 'Our Governments don't recognize the real talent. Only recommendations brings Awards. People without any face value or those we aren't familiar with were honoured with Padma Awards. That's why the sanctity/value of awards have come down drastically,' he alleged.
The Veteran Filmmaker showered praises on the current members of MAA Association. 'Till date, So many people got elected to MAA Association. But, The services of current Office Bearers is impressive. MAA headed by Rajendra Prasad has been providing pensions for poor artistes and felicitating seniors,' opined Dasari.
