On Friday night at 10.40 PM, Police have taken the accused identified as Ramkumar at Tirunelveli. The 22-Year-Old attempted suicide at the time of arrest by cutting his throat with a sharp object. Soon, He was rushed to a Government hospital.
Police begun the manhunt based on the CCTV Footage at the railway station. The door-to-door visit in Chooleimedu, the locality where the accused lives has paid off. Ramkumar, an engineering graduate, was taken into custody from a rented house in the area. He seems to be living here for the past three months and the other person with whom he has been sharing accommodation has gone missing.
During the questioning, Ramkumar confessed to police why killed Swathi. A press conference is expected on Saturday to disclose the facts revealed during the interrogation.
