Supreme Court's judgement on Cauvery Water allocation to Tamil Nadu has led to a law & order situation in Karnataka. Tension prevailed in Bengaluru post SC ordered for release of 15,000 cusecs of water per day to Tamil Nadu for 10 days. Yesterday, The Apex Court made a slight modification and directed Karnataka Government to release 12,000 cusecs per day till September 20th.

The SC Order has only resulted in serious law & order situation in Bengaluru. About 36 Volvo Buses belonging to KPN Travels were burnt to ashes within 20 minutes by some miscreants using petrol. KPN Travels Owner told he has been operating Bus Services from Karnataka since 1992. He told 400 buses have been operated from Karnataka to AP, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Puducherry.

KPN Travels has purchased 52 Volvo and Sleeper Buses one-and-a-half month ago. Around 25 Drivers and Conductors were sleeping in the garage when the incident took place on Monday night. Each of the buses cost anywhere between Rs 38 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.

Protestors have set 25 other vehicles including lorries which carry Tamil Nadu registration ablaze. In police firing, 25-Year-Old Umesh has died. On Nice Road, Protestors have burnt few buses and police vehicles. Overall, Around 100 vehicles have been damaged by the miscreants so far in Bengaluru.

Section 144 has been imposed in the IT Capital. Software Companies have declared Holiday. Karnataka Home Minister Parameswar alleged a Facebook post shared by Tamil Nadu student Santosh on September 10th led to this situation. Karnataka CM Siddharamaiah wrote a letter to his Tamil Nadu counterpart Jayalalithaa to ensure none of the Kannadigas were attacked in her state.
