Popular comedian cum character artiste Posani Krishna Murali had a rather daunting experience thanks to an abusive stalker named Naresh who repeatedly called his mobile demanding money and issuing threats.

Posani filed a police complaint and said that the abuser has been calling him since a long time asking for money. When Posani asked him how can he give money to a stranger, the stalker reportedly said that he too works in the film industry.

Upon receiving Posani's complaint, cops traced out Naresh and identified him as Lakshmi Narayana, a production manager in Tollywood. Apparently, Naresh was in dire need of money and took to extortion to earn quick bucks.

"When Posani didn't oblige Naresh's requests initially and disconnected his calls, Naresh kept on sending abusive and threatening messages," said the SR Nagar police. -

Magazine and calendar photo shoots are undoubtedly the most watched, thanks to the glamour and oomph of our very popular heroines who love to flaunt their unseen curves there. They shed their clothes without any inhibitions as their fame shoots up to next level, if it is already not. But a famous heroine is caught in a awkward situation due to her recent photo shoot.

A multi-talented famous and beautiful heroine from South, posed super bold for an international magazine's Indian edition recently, but the raw footage of this almost-nude photo shoot was leaked by some insider to another agency. The video reportedly hit websites within no time.

The actress's strong PR team made few swift moves in negotiating with the other agency who uploaded the video on internet and finally got it down when the actress too took it quite seriously.

Reportedly, the magazine authorities too apologized to the beautiful actress and we have to see if she has any plans to sue the company for being responsible in damaging her image. Some enthusiasts are even calling it a publicity stunt as her hot working stills from a song location leaked earlier too.

S Radhakrishna who produced high budget family entertainers such as Julayi and S/O Satyamurthy is currently co-producing two romantic entertainers A Aa (Anasuya Ramalingam Vs Anand Vihari) and Premam. While A Aa starring Nithin and Samantha Ruth Prabhu is slated for release on June 2nd, Premam that has Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan in lead roles is due for release in August.

As per trade sources, Overseas rights of these films fetched Rs 5.5 crores for the producers and the distributors have sold rights for several centers for good price. The source adds that, producers as well as distributors are safe with good pre release business for A Aa and Premam in overseas. In fact, family subjects will make strong business at overseas.

Buzz is positive for both A Aa and Premam. While A Aa is directed by Trivikram Srinivas who is pretty famous for writing hilarious dialogues and making pure family entertainers, Premam is remake of Malayalam industry hit film of same title and is being directed by Chandoo Mondeti whose first film Karthikeya was a good hit.

In recent times, star hero films such as Sardaar Gabbar Singh, Sarainodu and Brahmotsavam showed stars to overseas distributors by providing huge losses. Let's wait and see how A Aa, Premam and other upcoming Telugu films perform at overseas box office! -

Mega Prince Varun Tej's next film Mister in Sreenu Vaitla's direction was launched in April after several months of discussions and delay. During the launch, the makers announced that the  film's regular shooting will begin on May 15.

However, the film is yet to go on floors while Sreenu Vaitla and his team are in Spain for location recce. While the film's unit is claiming visa issues as the reason for delay in the shoot, here's the reason behind Mister's mysterious delay.

Apparently, there has been a conflict between Varun Tej and producer Nallamalupu Srinivas regarding Varun Tej's remuneration. While Srinivas has decided to pay 2 crores to Varun, the Mega camp is reportedly insisting double the pay.

Gossipmongers in Film Nagar are of opinion that Varun has no solid hit till date and that he doesn't deserve such a huge remuneration at this point of his career. Meanwhile, Varun fans are claiming that Mister's shooting has been kick-started in Spain, while Varun is busy attending the NATA celebrations in the US. -

The second day of TDP's Mahanadu in the temple town of Tirupati has witnessed some intensely open attacks on several opposition leaders. Speaking on the occasion, TDP's minister Narayana came down heavily on Congress' MP Chiranjeevi.

Alleging that Chiranjeevi backstabbed lakhs of people from the Kapu community who supported his Praja Rajyam Party and voted for him and his candidates in the 2009 general elections, Narayana said that Chiru betrayed them by merging PRP into Congress.

Narayana further questioned how will Chiru now work for the welfare of Kapus. Directing his attack towards the Kapu crusader and former MP Mudragada Padmanabham, Narayana demanded that Mudragada should come out clean on his motives behind his agitations.

Speaking further, Narayana reiterated that the Chandrababu's government is ever ready to keep its promise to the Kapus regarding their development in the state -

Universal hero Kamal Haasan was original choice for Shankar's magnum opus film Robo and the actor even had photo session with heroine Preity Zinta. Later, Rajinikanth was picked for the movie which was a biggest grosser in south then. Kamal was again approached to play antagonist in Robo 2.0. However, none had clarity whether the news is true or false.

Kamal Haasan in recent interaction with media has clarified that, he was approached to play negative role in Robo 2.0, but rejected the offer owing to a reason.

After Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan had decided long ago not to act together, they made a vow saying that if at all they decide to work together once again, the movie will be produced by either of the two.

So, this is the actual reason for Kamal rejecting Robo 2.0. However, it is not for the reason that he might face difficulties after taking up a negative character at this stage of his career, as speculated in media.

Bollywood action hero Akshay Kumar is essaying the negative role in Robo 2.0 that is being made under Lyke productions. Amy Jackson is leading lady in the science fiction film.

One thing is clear from Kamal's declaration that, a multistarrer is definitely on with Rajinikanth. Meanwhile, Kamal is gearing up to start Sabhash Naidu. -

While people from west are fighting against body shaming, wearing a bikini turned a crime for an actress, who expressed her anguish on people cursing over her bikini pics. Sonarika Bhadoria played the role of Goddess Parvathi in a tele serial Devon Ke Dev Mahadev.

And when she posted few pictures of herself in Bikini and flaunting her curvy body, people started questions like 'how can a goddess don a bikini' and cursing her as they could not tolerate a girl playing goddess Parvathi in bikini. The actress had to take down those pictures after a while and she came down heavily on her body-shamers. Saying she is not yet that mature to handle this sort of negativity, Sonarika left a middle finger icon for detractors and body shamers.

The other day it was Fardeen Khan who was body shamed and the former actor shot back with some strong yet decent things to say. Not just Fardeen or Sonarika, many celebrities from Bollywood are being body shamed and few give it back.

Now Sonarika uploaded her bikini pictures again and by this time, the body-shamers must have understood that their cursing or cussing gets boomeranged. -

A CCTV video from a store shows Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh shoplifting and this video has gone viral with #ChorInStore. Few rich people too have this habit of stealing things even when they can afford to buy them, they are Kleptomaniac. But Riteish is not one of them, but it is his attempt to promote his upcoming film 'Housefull 3'.

This is one of those cheap stunts to keep his film on news, and he won at it. The other day he flaunted his arrogance and anger when he splashed a glass of water at a radio jockey when his co-star Lisa Haydon's was promoting the film at a radio studio, a publicity stunt indeed. Another actor Arjun Kapoor too tried promoting his Ki and Ka, by giving a dummy tight slap to RJ at a studio. -

Bollywood has yet another technique of promoting love stories. A blow the gossip bubbles using lead pair names for affairs and trying to make things interesting as the actors too act accordingly. They hang around until the movie hits the screen and call it ta-ta after the release with a ugly spat, an attempt to cash on audience curiosity to watch the romance of 'so-called real lovers'.

Film promotion sure should go by innovative thoughts, but these kind of stooping down acts are not going to last long. An unfortunate or unexpected incident each day from the same set of actors whose movie is waiting for release, explains itself as a publicity stunt. These grab attention for the first time and look cheap from the next. -

Young hero Sundeep Kishan desperately needs a solid hit to prove himself as a bankable star. The actor's last few films were box-office turkeys and he is pinning all his hopes on his upcoming flick, Okka Ammayi Thappa.

Okka Ammayi Thappa is slated to release on June 10. The film's trailer received a good applause, though many said that the film's basic plot had some inspirations from the Hollywood hit thriller, Phone Booth.

The entire story of OAT takes place on the Hi-tech City Flyover. The film has been directed by popular dialogue writer Rajasimha. Lucky mascot Nitya Menen romances Sundeep in this romantic thriller produced by Anjireddy.

However, OAT will have a stiff competition from Trivikram's A..Aa, which is releasing on June 2. On the other hand, Nani's Gentleman will also impact OAT's box-office performance to an extent. We will have to wait and see if Sundeep manages to survive this sandwich competition in June. -

Chief Ministers are usually busy people tackling important and major problems in the state and very rarely do petty issues catch their attention. Even then, most CMs instruct their officers to handle those minor matters. But, AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is a class apart.

Since this morning, Chandrababu has been busy with TDP's Mahanadu, which is going on in Tirupati. All the cottages, guesthouses and even private hotels in the town have been occupied by the TDP leaders and cadres, who came to attend the event from across the two Telugu states.

Due to this heavy traffic, devotees who are visiting Lord Venkateshwara have been facing severe problems with shortage of accommodation in this scorching summer heat. When someone tipped Chandrababu about devotees' hardships, Babu was quick to respond.

During his speech, Babu instructed his party men not to occupy all the rooms in the TTD premises and in the town and leave some for the devotees. Babu requested his yellow army to share rooms among themselves as they attend the Mahanadu meetings from morning to evening and may not need the rooms during the day time. -

Gearing thing back, Vishal is now doing his best to stay afloat and promote himself in Telugu. The way he has promoted his latest film Rayudu reveals so much about his intention. Media circles are of the opinion that Vishal wants to get back in the reckoning and make the most of his career.

Vishal's career took a new turn after he won the Nadigar Sangam elections. Rayudu's Tamil release is his biggest hit till date in Tamil and he wants the most of it to rub off on the Telugu audiences. In the process, Vishal has released the film in close to 500 screens and has brought the entire star cast to promote the film here.

With this, it clearly proves that Vishal is leaving nothing out and wants to get back in the game. -

Show bizz is quite a hard place to survive. The craze for fame, money and the urge to be on the top of the game makes you do all sorts of negative things and heroines are mostly soft targets on such occasions.

Close on the heels of losing over Rs 100 Crore in film production, producer PVP has decided to shut his production office in Chennai. After facing acute losses, the producer of Balupu, Kshanam come to conclusion to close the operations in Tamil Nadu. What's more?

Employees of PVP Cinema based in Chennai have been informed about the development and asked them to look out for alternatives. Though PVP Cinema might not completely quit films, he would become more choosy and would be very conscious from now onwards.

Except Kshanam, none of his recent films have fared well at the ticket windows. Even Nag-Karthi starrer Oopiri which had opened to good reviews, ended up in losses. While the film tanked in Tamil, the film was an average grosser in Telugu. The film's high-budget was damper for the film. Presently, Mr Potluri is producing Rana-Taapsee starrer Ghazi which is touted to be India's first sub-marine based war film in Hindi.

The news of PVP to cut down the films isn't going well with many movie buffs. Definitely, not a welcome sign. -

Actor Sharwanand is arguably one of the best actors among young heroes in the Telugu industry. While initially he struggled to score commercial hits although his roles were appreciated by many critics. However, Sharwa managed to break the jinx and his last three films have done well at the marquee. While Run Raja Run, Express Raja were hits, Malli Malli Idi Rani Roju was an average grosser at ticket windows yet lapped up by critics.

Sharwa's last film Express Raja was released on the eve of Sankranthi. And now we're almost into June. Still, the Prasthanam star hasn't started his new movie yet. While film nagar is buzz that Sharwa would be teaming up with debutante director and BVSN Prasad would be producing the film, there's no official statement on when the film would go onto floors.

At a time when many of the flop heroes are starting their films one after the other, Sharwa is seems to be a bit slow. Well, looks like Sharwa has become more choosy. It's definitely needed after 3 hits and one has to appreciate Sharwa for it, but too much gap is also not good. -

Bollywood has seen some of the finest biopics in Indian Cinema. While many had come in the past, and more (Neerja, Azhar, Sarabjit) have come in the recent times and many more (Dangal, Dhoni, Sachin, Kishore Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Rani Laxmi Bai and etc ) are yet to come, Tollywood is now slowly adapting to the trend.

The latest we hear is that a biopic on legendary actress Savitri would be filmed soon. The life of yesteryear heroine Savitri, who earned the sobriquet of Mahanati, will be chronicled by young filmmaker Nag Ashwin who made a decent debut with Yevade Subramanyam.

Born on January 4, 1936, Savitri made her acting debut in 1950 Telugu-Tamil drama Samarasam, and went on to star in several classics such as Devadasu, Missamma, Penin Perumai, Pasa Malar, Bhale Ramudu, 'Thodi Kodallu, Mayabazaar and Gundamma Katha. Besides donning the greasepaint, Savitri also directed a few films such as Chinnari Papalu, Chiranjeevi and Mathru Devatha. She was even a popular playback singer. Subsequently, her personal life saw lows and pushed her into depression.

It's learnt that the movie wouldn't touch the dark side of her life and would focus more on the happier times of her and her contribution to cinema.  There's no clue on who's going to play the protagonist. The yet-to-be-titled film will be made simultaneously in Telugu and Tamil.  The film could be called as a tribute to first lady superstar of Telugu Cinema. -

One of the major drawbacks, Telugu Film Industry facing right now, is the ‘directionless’ directors. Poor planning, lack of bound-scripts, done-to-death stories, forced parodies, banking on fight-song-comedy formula, no command on the subject, unable to come up with new ideas, failing to gauge perfect run-time for given story, too many cliches, deja vus, predictable climaxes, wastage of content (which would go under scissors at editing table) pushing producers to rethink thrice before taking up a project. In addition to all the above, several personal obligations they have in choosing cast, crew and their remunerations, though unnecessary many of the times, stays at star hotels, pre-production bills spiking high like never-before.
From average films to flops to duds, T-town witnessed several projects that didn’t work at all. While few were failed for many factors (competition, timing of release, weather, prevailing conditions etc) , many others were out-rightly rejected by the audiences. Yet Telugu filmmakers are very slow learners that they hardly learn from their mistakes. By the time they’re willing to correct themselves and open their eyes, the major damage would be done.
Sample Srikanth Addala. The director’s last film with Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh got over-budget and reports had it that the film’s run-time too was too lengthy to take it. Producer Dil Raju had to step in then and remove the total portions of Brahmanandam from the film to save the film. Had Srikanth learnt to come out with bound script with plan to use best out of the total cast, the fate of Brahmotsavam would had been very different.
Sreenu Vaitla too no different. Even after failure of Aagadu, Vaitla came up with mediocre movie Bruce Lee. The film tanked at the BO and distributors lost big monies. No doubt, Vaitla had delivered many good films in the past, but what’s missing now is full attention and profound thought into script.
loading...
Though Sukumar is slightly better. Yet time and again he’s making ‘Cost-failure’ projects.  Post One-Nenokkadine’s failure, Sukumar did Nannaku Prematho which again increased cost of production. Though Nannaku Prematho received decent revenue and good talk, the profits weren’t much due to high production cost.
Vamshi Paidipally‘s Oopiri might have received good reviews all over. But the reality is that the film hasn’t made money as publicized. One of the major stumbling blocks for the film was its high-budget. Made with Rs 60 Crore, the multi-starrer film ended up in losses. Even positive word-of-the-mouth, rave reviews, high publicity didn’t help much.
Surender Reddy‘s Kick 2 was highly criticized as it had no resemblances to its original Kick. While Kick was a laugh riot, its sequel saw audiences crying foul.
VV Vinayak too shocked one and all with his dud Akhil. Touted to be debut of a star kid, the movie tanked without a trace and burned pockets of buyers. Even Vinayak’s Alludu Seenu was again a cost-failure project.
Pawan Kalyan‘s Sardaar Gabbar Singh is yet another shocker to the industry. The movie directed by Bobby with Pawan Kalyan’s supervision, story and screenplay, bitten the dust. Although it had record openings, the film didn’t sustain at the marquee due to its poor talk.
Even sensible director like Krish Jagarlamudi got it wrong while making war-film Kanche. Over-budget was one of the dampeners for this film besides others.
Sriwass‘ Dictator, Bheemineni Srinivas’ Speedunnodu, Dasaradh’s Shourya, Madan’s Garam, Ramesh Varma’s Abbayitho Ammayi all have bombed as audience rejected the films out-rightly.
Sadly, even many of the star heroes are trusting on these ‘directionless’ directors which is resulting in mediocre movies. It’s a wake-up call for directors, stars, producers and distributors.
