In the recent Telangana protests, albeit very strong, there was no sign of the leader of the movement, K Chandrasekhara Rao, the president of Telangana Rashtra Samithi. Without his active participation in the protests, there were many skeptical onlookers who couldn't fathom a reason behind his absence. The party insiders however tried to hush the matters by indirectly spreading news that their leader was seriously ill and asked to take rest for the time being.
What is the truth behind his absence? Is KCR really ill, so much so that he has to stay back and take rest? Is the “serious illness” similar to Sonia Gandhi's “undisclosed” illness that is still a mystery to the nation? A few sources on the other hand said that KCR was just fine and has been spending merry time at his farm house in Medak. They said that he couldn't show his face to the people after he lobbied with the Congress to secure a separate Telangana state. He even went as far as proposing to merge his party with the Congress in a quid pro quo move.
The source said that unable to bear the shame of his loss he has been maintaining a low profile ever since. When the people forget his absence from the crowd, he would surge again with another active movement and fight for Telangana, sources said. What exactly is KCR's strategy?
