Visakhapatnam,
Feb 17: SIMS MD Surendra Gupta who cheated several gullible investors
and vanished, surrendered before the police amid high drama.
Customers
who were cheated, staged dharna at the Visakhapatnam 4 Town police
station where he was being questioned by the police. They asked the CI
Hussain to hand him over to them so that they could collect their money
from him straight away.
Police advised the customers to
maintain restraint, saying that they had to enquire about Gupta’s assets
and his bank accounts. SIMS Company reportedly collected more than Rs.
500 crore in the name of multi-level business and brought the shutters
down.
